Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 14:28 So I have a ticket and transport for the final, but after seeing that and the aftermath of yesterday, coupled with the bother of the last few games, I find myself dreading the game. I can’t see us getting a result and, with the almost certainty of sectarian bile and ending up getting a kicking after the game, I’m left questioning whether it’s worth it. The day will probably be spoiled by them, and thinking about the game (which I had been looking forward to) now makes me wonder if I could do without the hassle. I will end up going to be there and support the team, but at what cost? Like other pars supporters, I’ll be there with family members who don’t usually go to many games. It feels spoiled before it has even started by the cancerous Weegies. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply |

| 27. Author: KirklistonPar Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 15:50 Yeah, the shine has sadly been taken off the final for me. Instead of going along and enjoying the atmosphere and supporting the Pars I’m gonna be looking over my shoulder in the fear of idiots that don’t know how to behave. Hopefully the day passes by with no Pars fans getting hurt. I will be sitting with 3 generations of my family and I want it to be a day for us to remember for all the right reasons. Reply |

Same as in 68" Celtic fans were not in the equation ref. `68 - the ban was the result of Rangers fans invading Hampden after the 1965 Old Firm League Cup final with some attempting to confront Celtic players - an error of judgement - Tommy Gemmell "intervened" ........... !!! The ban was in place before we played Hearts and several years thereafter. Reply |

| 30. Author: Dave_1885 Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 17:01 Can see it now - Pars win the cup and as fans exit the stadium half an hour later, the Green Brigade lying in wait to pelt families with missiles from all directions whilst the police stand by and watch. It happened last time at Parkhead when we took them to extra time in League Cup, dont see why it wont happen on Saturday too. Reply |

Author: Par Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 17:15 Hopefully the club will be in contact with the authorities to ensure the same measures are put in place as per the semi to keep both sets of fans apart. I know the green brigade marched through the St Mirren bus park at the semi, which was not stopped by the police, this can not be allowed to happen at the final. Reply |
| 32. Author: AberdourPar Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 17:34 I`m a Pars supporter in my mid 70`s. I`ve been to the cup finals 65,68,04 and 07, and the league cup finals 92 and 06. In 2007 I said to my wife that I probably wouldn`t see another cup final, but here we are. This will not be the Pars last final, but realistically it could be mine. I would be travelling a long distance on my own from the north of the country, and the pals I used to sit with having gone. After the most depressing weekend of football since relegation, I am considering watching the game on tv. I don`t want to breathe the same air as Celtic supporters. Imagine going to a game and hiding your team colours on the way in and on the way out for fear of being attacked. But I hope that I change my mind, and that others who are wavering still go and support the team. Reply |
| 33. Author: veteraneastender Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 17:59 Pitch invasions are nothing new in Scotland. Back in the early `60s Celtic fans brought a halt to a Scottish cup semi final at Ibrox by invading the pitch (from both ends) after St.Mirren went 4-0 up. Nothing malicious about it - just a forlorn attempt to have the match abandoned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiqmysisssi Reply |
| 34. Author: SusieQ Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 18:05 I must admit, I felt similar after the semi final. Thought to myself what a great atmosphere in the town that night with everyone celebrating. Then my thoughts turned to the final if we had Celtic. What would the atmosphere be like in the town after? Celebratory definitely, but would it be ruined by local "fans" of the other team. We didn`t have that aspect after the semi as I can`t imagine many, if any Falkirk fans live in the area. As for the ground - if the can put a cordon up along the North stand between us and Falkirk fans, surely they can do similar for the final, albeit slightly further along Somerville Drive?! We don`t have the North Stand so there must be the ability to cordon off from the end of the stand rather than the middle 🤔 I really hope the club can insist on something given the events of the weekend & some of our fans nervousness because of it. COME ON YE PARS! Reply |
| 35. Author: 87Par Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 18:24 Absolutely nothing will deter me from going to support my beloved Pars. Especially not them. We totally deserve and have earned this. I understand folks thoughts and concerns here. I`d urge everyone to go and back the team and the boys. Let`s get right into them. Whole country will be behind us. My reference to 68 was the fact that the team were not allowed to celebrate with the fans .. my bad if I did not make that clear or if you simply read it wrong .. we all know the history behind it .. seen footage .. and abhorred it .. So here we go again .. same as in 68 .. My reference to the best fans invading again was for the 3rd time this year .. so probably misled you Post Edited (Sun 17 May 19:30) Reply |
| 38. Author: veteraneastender Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 20:04 Understood - but `68 had to be in context, we weren`t singled out for a lap of honour ban. There were four cup finals at Hampden following the 1965 League Cup final which had initiated the embargo. Two of these involved Celtic v Rangers, so it was clearly justified. Should it have been extended to a final where neither of the "Gruesome Twosome" were playing ? Doubtful, however the SFA had to follow their own rules I suppose. Reply |
| 39. Author: AdamAntsParsStripe Date: Sun 17th May 2026. 20:30 I’ve no doubt at all the decent Celtic fans were appalled at the recent pitch invasions especially at Ibrox and Celtic Park yesterday. There was loud booing at the conclusion heard on the radio at least. Celtic are the team however who need to clamp down hard on those fans who ruined it for the rest. I’ve never felt threatened in all the years we’ve played Celtic. Indeed, back in the day we’d stop off at Kilsyth Bowling Club run by Celtic fans and were welcomed. But , this is today and like their bigoted brothers, Celtic have their extreme elements who seemingly don’t care who they affect. When I lived in Dortmund, the authorities closed the entire Yellow Wall because of fan behaviour. That sounds outrageous but it did the trick. The same should happen to Celtic next season for a game. Can we all agree that if we are somehow leading in the final minute of added time next week that we`re all running on yeah? Reply |
