Pitch invasions are nothing new in Scotland.

Back in the early `60s Celtic fans brought a halt to a Scottish cup semi final at Ibrox by invading the pitch (from both ends) after St.Mirren went 4-0 up.

Nothing malicious about it - just a forlorn attempt to have the match " style="max-width:90%;">abandoned.

They are maybe nothing new veteran. But unfortunately this day n age is not like back then. Thats 3 times in 2 months theyve cascaded onto the pitch. Im gonna say it. Not a fkn acknowledgement or condemnation from our so called FM. Its a disgrace. Ive never ever wanted us to win a game more than i do us on Saturday.

They`re not just down to over exuberant celebrating either.

Never saw the one midweek but the one at Ibrox and the one yesterday were similar in that the pitch invaders approached the players.

Some were trying to get selfies - not the time or place, while some wanted to confront opposition players, and at Ibrox, confront opposing fans.

It`s a very dangerous precedent if it`s continued to be ignored - how long before someone is seriously injured due to the idiots?

It may not be a new thing, but there`s a real sinister undertone to the current trend that players should not be subjected to.

The fact it's the same team now involved 3 times in a very short space of time suggests that action needs to be taken - fines don't work so maybe points deductions would.

Time for the authorities to grow a set ...

COME ON YE PARS!

Understood - but `68 had to be in context, we weren`t singled out for a lap of honour ban.

There were four cup finals at Hampden following the 1965 League Cup final which had initiated the embargo. Two of these involved Celtic v Rangers, so it was clearly justified.

Should it have been extended to a final where neither of the "Gruesome Twosome" were playing ?

Doubtful, however the SFA had to follow their own rules I suppose.

We weren’t singled out in 68, but we were a club, totally uninvolved in those earlier “incidents”, yet punished as we couldn’t celebrate winning the Cup at Hampden with our own fans.

The point is, this dreadful nonsense flares up regularly and has done for decades. Much tougher action needed. Ban them from the Cup Final.

Statement saying game was over before invasion!!!

Interested I remember a Celtic ( v Rapid Vienna)game where a bottle was thrown onto the pitch. Game finish. 3-0 Celtic. Opposing team protested and guess what game was replayed down in England. Celtic lost !!
Football is full of full time results being overturned.
The nonsense about invasion after the final whistle, so the result stands is not definitive!!

Looks to me it was the Celtic bench and staff who were first on the pitch. Surely needs a serious sanction?

Noting the celtic comment, it was after the game
1. So what still their fans caused it
2 it actually was not after that`s a convenient story it was clearly during.

BBC were reporting that Celtic backroom staff were goading the Hearts bench after both the second and third goals.

I just hope we don’t stoop to their level. Some people tried sectarian chanting, but both our fans and the club shut it down immediately. Hopefully we can go there and show the club in a good light.
Celtic blamed Rangers for the Old Firm trouble, but they’ve yet to condemn the scenes at both the Motherwell and Hearts games, probably because there was nobody else to blame but themselves..

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

remember all the carnage when aberdeen won last year, all the fans etc that were attacked celebrating, or the dundee united fans assaulted when they beat celtic in the league a few weeks ago because celtic are sore losers?

Go about your day and if you happen to come across 100 boys in dark green/black if you avoid shouting terms such as "feni@n B`st@rd" or throwing things at them there probably wont be a reaction

We all know there will be no action taken following on from the Hearts game - because of the influence and intimidation tactics Celtic have and use over the SFA.
The police did a good job of keeping us and Falkirk at different ends of the ground for the semi, so fingers crossed they do the same for Saturday.
But we all know Celtic fans, and the GB in particular, are the most entitled group of supporters in Europe so no doubt they`ll turn up and just expect to march where they want and sing just what they want too.
It`s about time we brought in police from other parts of Europe for games involving Celtic - they seem to know how to handle supporters like that pretty well...

for those who dont wish to bump into the "undesirable" element of the celtic support they are walking from Glasgow green to Hampden leaving at 1pm on Saturday route will head over the bridge on crown street, up laurieston road, aikenhead road/calder street road arriving at the ground probably around 13:50.

for those driving i wouldn`t advise driving behind them road be covered in cans/bottles etc
