Running a marathon is quite an achievement, but this is off the scale. 😳

It`s a herculean effort right enough to run that distance in that time scale or on any time scale really. When you hear about these sort of challenges though I do wonder if it is motivated by the charity or if it`s more just because the people doing it want to do it for themselves.

And although my eyes were open
They just might as well be closed

I can`t imagine you`d even set off if your heart wasn`t really in it, no matter how deserving the charity is. There will always be people wanting to challenge themselves to achieve something really difficult, but this is wild.

Had a strange coincidence there. Just sat down to breakfast, TV on STV, James Martin`s Saturday Kitchen, which had just gone to a break. I opened my phone, opened this thread, and Parsboiled`s post was the first one I read, at exactly the same time as Johnny Cash sang those exact words on a Trail finders advert.

"I`ve been everywhere, man".

It was the exact split second moment I was reading it in my head, he sang the words. Mind blowing

I think your tongue is firmly in your cheek, Messi. 🙂

On the off chance you were being serious, I`m guessing you`re obviously not a long distance runner?

Maybe he`s a nutter.

Actually, no maybe about it. Have to be a complete mentalist to do that.

Ep.16 of East End Tales is out now with Steven Mill

If you find his twitter, he gives regular updates on what he`s been encountering. Some pretty mental stuff.

Aye, you`re just our local nutter, Ziggy. Ah mind o` ye getting a good whack on the knee a week before the Dunfermline half marathon and telling me at the start you were going to give it a try but your knee was still pretty swollen and sore and you didn`t you think you`d finish the race.

Later on, I heard you`d completed the run in 81 mins...... 🙄

Minor point.

Can’t think I’ve heard the advert - that’s not originally a Johnny Cash song though. Hank Snow if I’ve made the right connection
