3. Author: Parboiled Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 09:24 They have made a mess of everything they touch, but never mind it’s Westminster’s fault or it’s worse in Wales. Their foot soldiers in Holyrood are nodding yes men/women, some of whom can barely utter a word without a script that’s been penned for them. They have young lassies as cabinet secs who really should be manning a till in Tesco. I love Humza though, apart from being a plant from the neck up is he a MI5 planted stooge? Reply |
4. Author: hurricane_jimmy Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 09:48 I do love the notion that fogey Yoons like Parboiled slaver about youngsters being "uneducated". Despite your keyboard brovado, you`d stand no chance in a proper debate setting. If you do want to call me out on that then I`m happy to organise something on zoom at your earliest convenience, so let me know. As for you Tenruh, you are to the Yoons as Orban is to Putin: "the useful idiot". I would far rather have Joanna Cherry in charge of the SNP (which I think will happen in the next few years) and dislike Humza and Kate. But if you really can`t see that you are doing more harm than good to the Independence cause then more fool you. The two of you need to get a grip and realise that you are in the minority, and quite substantially at that. Being noisy isn`t going to give your nonsense viewpoints any more credence. Reply |
5. Author: DBP Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 10:21 Tenruh is no more interested in independence than parboiled is… Only difference between the two is one is pretending to be in the camp Post Edited (Mon 01 Apr 10:23) Reply |
6. Author: jake89 Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 11:58 Tenruh is likely similar to me in that he thinks independence makes sense but doesn`t think it`ll be achieved with the current lot. Though I`m not a fan of sharing stories that are very one-sided. We`ve banked on the SNP bringing independence now at at least 2 Westminster and 2 Holyrood elections. We`re no further forward and there is even less media support. The media was obsessed with the GRA even though it made very little change (it essentially reduced the paperwork) and is now obsessed with the Hate Crime bill, which largely brings Scotland into line with the rest of the UK. It`s all a convenient distraction to the massive corruption and fraud going on. How is it that someone can donate a load of money then get conveniently rewarded some months later? We used to have solid MPs who you`d see about town and would be interested and care. The current lot don`t seem bothered about anything other than political point scoring. This applies across all parties btw. Reply |

Ever get the feeling you`ve been cheated Post Edited (Mon 01 Apr 14:22) Reply |

10. Author: Parboiled Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 13:00 Oh dear I’ve done a faux pas …lassies manning a till” Then again these days you could have laddies saying they are lassies so manning would be ok because they aren’t really lassies then they could say that was a hate crime saying they’re not really lassies and oh dear I’m away for a lie down.. 11. Author: LochgellyAlbert Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 13:07 The cash cow that is Westminster is really needs sorted out, previous Expenses Scandal and Cash for Honours were revised but have made little difference. Brexit protected those that had offshore accounts and stopped pensions being increased to European levels. Tories have tried to stop people voting with their ID legislation and giving expats (foreign migrants) a vote has a look of desperation. The apathy from voters will be seen at the next General Election, voting should really be made compulsory! Reply |

Similar to a ship yard thay had no business getting a 100 million pounds contract (that figure has risen to just shy of 400 million pounds now) to build two ferries. The ship yard was of course owned by a high profile independence supporter. And although my eyes were open They just might as well be closed Reply |

14. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 15:23 Comparing `corruption` at Holyrood to what has gone on at Westminster is like comparing the crimes of a shoplifter to those of a mass murderer. Corruption under the Tories is so rife that it just seems to be accepted as the norm. Getting away from that should be as good an argument as any in favour of independence. Reply |
15. Author: The One Who Knocks Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 16:34 It`s often in the news Jake yet surprisingly gets talked about very seldomly on here. 300 million pounds, which is not a trifling sum from the budget of the Scottish government, frittered away on a couple of boats that have yet to be delivered. Yet to ovheqr any satisfactory explanation as to why that contract was awarded to the company it was given to. A company that didn`t have the infrastructure to complete such a project and which the Scottish government were informed couldn`t do it. Of course everyone knows all that because it`s always in the news. And although my eyes were open They just might as well be closed Reply |
16. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 16:59 It`s certainly always in the Herald. They never stop going on about ferries. I see you`ve side-stepped the scale of corruption at Westminster though. It`s an everyday event down there. Reply |
17. Author: The One Who Knocks Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 17:25 I`ve no need to side step anything. I`m not indoctrinated to support any side. Corruption is seemingly not uncommon in Westminster but then if we can`t stamp out incompetence and corruption at Holyrood when they have less powers, money and temptation then it doesn`t bode well for what would happen in an independent Scotland. And although my eyes were open They just might as well be closed Reply |
18. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 17:43 You`re not `indoctrinated` to support any side? What`s that all about? What you consider to be corruption at Holyrood is an obstacle to independence but you just accept it`s part of the system at Westminster! I`m amazed how some people (usually Unionists) metaphorically shrug their shoulders at the mention of corruption at Westminster. Partygate, Owen Paterson, donors given titles, etc. Will we ever get to the bottom of the allocation of PPE contracts during the COVID epidemic? Reply |
19. Author: The One Who Knocks Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 17:50 Wee Eck, I never see you criticise anything the SNP do. Ever. If that`s not sign of indoctrination I don`t know what is. And although my eyes were open They just might as well be closed Reply |
20. Author: hurricane_jimmy Date: Mon 1st Apr 2024. 18:10 Oaft, Towk, but all that Russian oligarch money that has funded the Tories is a fart in the wind compared to the SNP campaign finances, kin? I guess they`ll make up for it though if they actually show some stones and transfer it to Ukraine. Might even be a way for them to cover up some of their dodgy dealings! Tenruh, I haven`t seen you make a substantive point on the Independence debate in aeons. All we get is drivel about some obscure entity called "NuSNP". How do you even define "NuSNP"? Is it the post-Salmond SNP? Parboiled - sure you don`t want to shift over to Norn Iron and join the DUP or TUV with that patter? Archaic stuff. Reply |
