2. Author: Jeffery Date: Sun 29th Sep 2024. 07:54 That £40m fee, which sounded crazy for a relatively unproven player, is now looking like very good business. Reply |
3. Author: Paralex Date: Sun 29th Sep 2024. 14:57 Watching his almost perfect display against Brighton, where he scored 4 but could have had 6, cheered me up a bit after the, let`s be honest, soul-less display at East End Park. Reply |
4. Author: GG Riva Date: Sun 29th Sep 2024. 16:57 Paralex, Sun 29 Sept 14:57 You have to think Pep & Co are kicking themselves now. Palmer wanted more game time, but Pep couldn`t/wouldn`t give him any guarantees so he decided his future lay elsewhere. Not your average Sunday League player. Reply |
5. Author: parathletic Date: Sun 29th Sep 2024. 17:11 Gareth Southgate didn`t give him a single start for England in the Euros and they were awful going forward! Reply |
6. Author: Bandy Date: Tue 1st Oct 2024. 12:39 He`s a wonderful player. The pundits who compared him to Bergkamp are bang on, IMO opinion. Reply |
7. Author: Buspasspar Date: Tue 1st Oct 2024. 15:47 He has to be the most naturally gifted player I have seen .. He is a wonderful footballer who makes it look so easy We are forever shaped by the Children we once were Reply |

9. Author: wee eck Date: Tue 1st Oct 2024. 16:46 I must admit I didn`t know much about Cole Palmer. I see he has West Indian ancestry (specifically St Kitts) on his father`s side. He has had a significant influence on his career as has his mother. It must have taken a lot of guts and self-belief to leave Manchester City for Chelsea. Reply |
10. Author: WarringtonPar Date: Tue 1st Oct 2024. 18:30 He’s from Wythenshawe, Manchester. His family are all United fans and his Dad named him Cole after Andy Cole. Sadly United showed no interest in the early years and City picked him up at 8 years old. In typical fashion United will probably pay £100m to get him back North. Marvellous footballer and so naturally gifted. Reply |
11. Author: Paralex Date: Sun 8th Dec 2024. 21:28 Sparkling display again today. Ice cold nerve. Made an excellent goalie look daft with that second penalty. Chelsea are going places and Cole Palmer is their main inspiration. One of those very special players. Hope he keeps fit and realises his full potential. Reply |

13. Author: GG Riva Date: Mon 9th Dec 2024. 07:13 Paralex, Sun 8 Dec 21:28 City must be kicking themselves for allowing him to leave. Apparently, he wanted more game time and Pep couldn’t guarantee him he`d get it. On a side note, the Panenka penalty - is that not a tad disrespectful? There`s not a fan anywhere who doesn`t love to see their team score one - many of us will recall Jim McIntyre`s v Hibs at Hampden in the SC semi-final, but players and fans of the opposing side may not see it that way. On the other hand, it takes real baws to attempt one, and if the goalie just stands up and catches it, the kicker leaves himself open to ridicule. I`m asking because there`s an unwritten rule in football that it`s unprofessional and disrespectful to humiliate your opponents. That may explain in part why some teams ease up when they`re comfortably in front by say 4 or 5 goals in a game. Older Pars fans may remember Leeds toying with Southampton in the early 70s when they were 7-0 up with about 15-20 mins left. Former Par, Eric Martin, was between the posts for the Saints, poor man. 😒 Not your average Sunday League player. Reply |
14. Author: Connor560 Date: Mon 9th Dec 2024. 09:08 Absolutely get the point about it being disrespectful but where does that stop? If someone was to lob the goalkeeper from 30 yards, is that disrespectful? The Beckham goal from half way...etc etc. I dont think we should ever quash confidence in this game. C'mon Ye Pars! Reply |
15. Author: Paralex Date: Mon 9th Dec 2024. 10:04 When we seem to be accepting, the professional foul, the full scale pulling of shirts and the elaborate intimidation of the player about to take the penalty (not to mention the heaps of garbage aimed at Cole when he was about to take a corner), a cheeky little dink over the goalie, by comparison, seems well within the limits of fair play. 18. Author: Jeffery Date: Tue 10th Dec 2024. 08:11 In interviews he sounds like he`s either not the brightest or has chosen to ignore the media training he will undoubtedly have received. Both are fine as it`s really refreshing to hear honest answers to questions. He is an incredible footballer and I`m sure Pep will be regretting letting him go. Reply |
