I saw an interesting reel the other day from a Man Utd coach who said Ferguson ended his briefing to him when he started by saying the most important thing for practices was to focus on getting the team to attack with Pace, Power, Penetration and Unpredictability. We have been far too predictable and the manager keeps leaving out some of our potentially more unpredictable players like Cooper. The owners don`t have the same concerns of impending doom that many fans have. They will make decisions based on finance. Sacking a manager,and most likely his assistant, with an 18-month contract left, is very costly, with a real risk that the new manager may also fail to enthral the fans. I don`t think anything will happen until the contract is much shorter, or we drift further away from safety. There may come a point where the cost of relegation becomes concerning enough to them, and they act. We are a distance away from that yet. I think if we were maybe 6 points behind 3rd bottom fear might kick in, but they won`t spend so much cash while we are in touch with the pack.  Reply |
