True Oz, we are where are because we have too many league 1 level players who we tied up on lengthy contracts.

I don`t buy that. We`re poorly coached.

I agree. Maybe Wighton, Chalmers, Mehmet are league one, but they are not playing too much first team football anyway.

I wouldn`t have Mehmet as the number one choice for Dunfermline at championship level but he`s not responsible for the absolute poison we play most of the time.

Chalmers is absolutely fine at this level doing a job alongside more progressive players.

Wighton has regressed admittedly but again, in a more confident team he`s a fine squad member at this level.

That`s, what, 3 players out of 23/24 as well.

Which players have got better under the current coaching staff? There`s plenty talent and potential there but name me one that`s got better?

Ngwenya, KRH, McCann, chalmers have yet to show they are consistent performers at this level. Could really add otoo, clay, fisher, young to that and to be honest pretty much all of the squad have been in and out now this season.

Too many unproven or not consistently good enough at this level.

Rusty are you really saying mcpakes recruitment has been fine but it’s his tactics killing us?

The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity!

When assessing McPakes recruitment I think it’s only fair to bear in mind the pool he had to choose from which was slim pickings basically.

We were very late and well behind others in signing players and missed out on a lot of targets McPake would’ve wanted over what he ended up bringing in.

He still has a duty to bring in players that will improve the squad so isn’t immune to criticism by any means but think we just need to recall the whole saga earlier on.

You`re assuming McPake doesn`t burden any blame for the late signings.

Correct DBA in particular spending a whole summer chasing Wotherspoon only to not get him.

Just home and honestly that was crap.

I’ll give Sutherland and Cooper a pass as I still see them as young and learning but McCann apart from his goal was poor, Wighton went on for a sleep, KRH hit the first man too many times (at least he showed some emotion when being subbed), Chalmers could be a good footballer as long as it’s walking football-slowly slowly easy does it.

Mebude looks like he could do something, I’ll give him a bit of time cos I think you’ve got to take into consideration where he’s came from/recovered from.

Matty Todd looks out of form. He’s a much better player than he’s showing-I’m confident he’ll get through it.

We should have won by 4 but we’re shockingly poor up front.

A wins a win but that was pretty crap. Defended fine. Slow build up play (as usual) Wasteful up front.

Alloa were poor for a team apparently on a decent run and top of League 1.

Pray to god Chris Kane is fit for Saturday.

Not sure what to say about that. Alloa were poor, our finishing was desperate, we deserved to win. Comrie was excellent, Benedictus dominated, I was happy to see Fisher on the park - he`s one player who must have a chance of a career if he can get a run of games.

Midfield with Hamilton and Chalmers is never going to be creative. We did make and miss a bucket load, but mostly through Alloa errors.

Not confident about beating Airdrie on Saturday, Kane`s availability key.

Mbude is getting up to speed. . McAnn did a great shift. KRH did well. Defence overall were solid. Keeper gives me huge confidence and that goes through the team. If we don’t get our fans and therefore the board on McPake back we will pull through this season just fine. PS I think Cooper can be a player - I hope he gets a 2nd season.

Why has Tobi slowed his distribution down? Disappointed in the length of time it took him to get us going tonight?

Comrie and Bene were really solid tonight even after they threw that utter haddie on up front.

McCann`s becoming one of our most effective players. That`s two goals and an assist in our last five games I think. He must be responding to all the advice he gets on here.

The reported crowd figure was more than QP managed at our game on Saturday.

He`s a handful and that was a very composed finish last night.

In the second half just before he was subbed he ran down the main stand side. If he`d looked up Cooper was alone in the middle but he ran to the bye line then fell to the ground. Just wish his decision making was a bit better.

Cue Berkey

That was not a good performance from McCann last night. Yes he took his goal well but he’s so wasteful! We were lucky we were playing against Alloa last night, any team in the championship would have given us real problems.

His first touch let him down numerous times, he missed more than one goal scoring opportunity and the main one he missed was a shocker. How tall is he? 6’1ish??? Cos he jumps about 5’8 and the timing of his movement 🤷🏻‍♂️ he’ll move towards a high ball and it’ll go over his head… I just don’t get it.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he needs glasses but he’s never been to an optician.
