Topic: Section North West HANDOVER

Copied from the Section North West socials

You may have noticed reduced action from our group in the last few months. Due to recent health issues and personal family commitments, the 2 founding members of SNW will sadly, no longer be able to devote the time required to maintain and run the Section and its associated activities. We hope to pass the baton to other active members.

Starting with the first tifo display in 2015 to honour our very own Norrie, home tifos honouring ex club servants, pushing the boundaries of the Scottish ultras scene and tifos away at Celtic Park and The Grangemouth Stadium.

Overall despite the massive amount of work and commitment required it’s been a pleasure and honour to contribute to the overall match day experience.

Whilst it would never appeal to everyone the Section brought a vibrancy and atmosphere which hopefully enhanced a trip to EEP and motivated players alike.

Thanks to all the Pars Fans who provided us with support over the last 9 years.

Jason and David Canning

C'MON YE PARS

Hopefully someone takes this on. Despite some of the negativity around the NW the TIFOs have always been great.

Well done guys and enjoy your "retirement"

Please do not make false accusations. This is far from the truth! Although this has come with many challenges to over come the club have been very supportive throughout the last 9 years!

Personally I`m not a huge fan of TIFOs (probably because I`m old enough to remember fans with flat caps and ricketies!), but they do bring colour and something different to the matchday experience.

Just as importantly, the work that Martin, Jason and their team have put into engagement with the younger fans has been tremendous, and should never be under-estimated. Big shoes to fill, I hope someone does so.

I`m guessing the name comes from `Tifosi`, which I thought meant a group of fans.

I can help here, Bandy.

"Tifosi" are the most vocal and passionate fans of a club. It`s an Italian word, originally meaning someone suffering from typhus, so a "tifoso" was a fan who was akin to someone who was delirious from typhus fever. 😃 Tifo is the support they bring to the game.

Ultras are those tifosi who take their support to extremes, organising displays, pyros and sometims fights with rival ultras.

Not your average Sunday League player.

I vehemently disagree with the yellow card I was given. Complete suppression of my freedom of speech.

This is my honest opinion if you look at the bans, over-the-top statements, and heavy hands in the section how can you disagree?

As for the vampire slayer ousting my comment as crap, I`m unsure as to why there want a yellow card handed for this.

You could maybe disagree, given that you were told, first-hand by the person stepping down, that you were completely wrong?

He would seem like a reasonable source.

I love it when we go sell Kevin Nisbet,
He's gonna pay for everyone this season.

Only took about 5 posts for the pettiness and name calling to hit this thread…..is that a record?

For the positives of the Tifos/displays there have also been plenty of negatives with the flare throwing, targeting of officials and lack of self policing……maybe a break from it for a while is whats needed before we get a proper sanction from the league?

I read the statement last night and was gutted that you were both standing down however family is more important than football and I respect and understand your decision and thank you for adding sound and colour to EEP for the past 9 years. I really hope the right person steps forward and brings it on because, without the issues mentioned above, the vibrant section is missed and EEP has returned to a library without it.

On a side note, does anyone know when the club intends to lift the ban on buying match day tickets in the section?

There isn`t one. Maybe for the next Rovers/Falkirk games but been available the last few games.

Edit: For adults at least.
