141. Author: Paralex Date: Sat 12th Apr 2025. 20:27 There`s no doubt that some parts of McCann`s game leaves quite a lot to be desired, particularly his ball control. But he was certainly worth his salt today. At his best he can be a handful for defenders, and when he gets into the action, he is a good target man. He gets his head to balls that others don`t. He is better when Kane plays because Kane has the know how to get to his cross balls. Today, McCann was productive and worth his place. Reply |

146. Author: Jock Par36 Date: Sat 12th Apr 2025. 20:46 I`m clocking out for the night but before I go, us doesn`t matter if McCann dud this we`ll or did that we`ll. He does not score goals. I will becat the Partick Thistle game next Saturday and if McCann scores a hat trick then I will more than happy to take back all the negative things I have said. Goodnight to all Pars Fans. Reply |

149. Author: Socks Date: Sat 12th Apr 2025. 21:21 It`s a big win, though I guess any win at this point of the season is. We really had to win that because they were utterly dire - if we`d only got a point from it after them showing absolutely nothing and everyone else taking a load of goals off them recently, it would be pretty worrying. That in itself adds some pressure so it`s great that we got through it and got the win we deserved. I`m not quite sure I`m up to watching 3 further games (and maybe more) of intense relegation nerves. When you`re not in top form away from football, I find that watching that sort of game is very demanding emotionally. I`d planned to just watch it quietly on my own but, of course, that goes out when it`s tense in the second half and moreso when we get a lead to hold on to. We weren`t under any heavy pressure late in the game as they kept making mistakes but there were still a couple of nervy moments. I don`t think the refs have been too bad this season in the main, but in the last few games I`ve not been too impressed. Quite honestly, that guy today was an utter clown. He ignored the most obvious booking you could ever see in the first half for the wee tug back to stop an attack then another not long after. Also had no objection to them slowing it down when it was 0-0 but then went utterly mad when we did similar after scoring. He just didn`t seem to understand it - I think it was the free kick for the wee tug back that was intended to stop the attack and slow it down - he then spent 20 seconds talking to the player to slow it down even more. Today wasn`t one where there were big decisions that went against us, but what seemed like a long series of small things. Wee mention for Yeboah today. He`s had many games when he`s looked hopeless but today he really contributed to the team when he came on. Helped us get up the park and used his body a bit better. Reply |

156. Author: RhinoPars Date: Sat 12th Apr 2025. 23:45 Yeboah has not impressed me to date, but like Socks I also thought he did really well when he came on today. Wanyama is clearly not the fastest but he demonstrated how strong and skilled he was and did well in his short cameo appearance. His ability to hold off at least two of their defenders when shielding the ball at the corner flag near the end reminded me of I think it was Nat Wedderburn holding off ( three?) Dumbarton defenders a few years back. Great result for us today against a poor team who have a difficult run in. Chilokoa-Mullen again was great. Matty Todd in these last games has also done well. Clay was also very good today. 1-0 probably flattered QP. Once again I thought the referee was terrible. He kept allowing them to disrupt and slow down our play with continual pushes in the back and other fouls. He could have dished out a few more yellow cards. In rugby and hockey after persistent fouling the ref will get the captains to speak to their players and let them know next one’s a card. Well done Pars. Still lots to do, but today’s result was a huge step towards survival, although would have been even nicer if we could have got another couple of goals to increase the GD difference. Also nice for the players to play on a large decent surface today compared to the last three matches. Post Edited (Sun 13 Apr 07:04) Reply |
157. Author: thebear Date: Sun 13th Apr 2025. 00:35 Quite likely queens park will get no more points, so will finish below us. Airdrie need to win two more than we do. So likely we are safe, but still squeaky bum time Reply |
