84. Author: parsmad68 Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 07:28 General Zod, Thu 24 Apr 06:59 I have seen him play a couple of times and the best comparison I can make is to an in form Ted McMinn of Rangers. As he has noticeably bulked up from his injury, he will not be easily pushed off the ball. Caused chaos in defences with his unorthodox style and unselfishly passed for an excellent goal when we lost 4-2 to Dundee in the wee cup at Dens. Post Edited (Thu 24 Apr 07:28) Reply |

Which one? * "Well done to the young team is Sutherland signed for next year ?" Which one? ** * Andrew is a neat and tidy player with an eye for a pass. He was very slight earlier on but it looks like he`s bulked up a bit. Hopefully see some minutes at some point again (he has featured for the first team) then gets a solid loan move next season. Jon is a centre back who strides out with the ball and looks the real deal. He`s a bit of a Nipper Thompson in that he can play multiple positions and has been used in midfield and further forward on occasion. Think he`s got a good chance if he stays fit and get a good loan move sorted. ** I think Taylor is out of contract but Jake has a year or more left. Taylor has obviously featured for our first team but hasn`t really kicked on in his loan spell at Clyde. Jake is a bit younger but really came onto a game in the Lowland League with Cowdenbeath and ended up their top scorer. Maybe a League Kne or Two team will be interested in him next season. Reply |
86. Author: Raymie the Legend Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 07:39 I would expect that Lenny will be having a good look at them in pre-season and then make a decision from there? As they are all young and have potential, I would hope that they will be loaned out next season with a view to joining the first team squad, the year after? ![]() It`s bloody tough being a legend Ron Atkinson - 1983 Reply |
87. Author: Ianoappar Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 08:40 Great result for the reserves last night and the Tod brothers getting mentioned along with the Sutherland brothers is encouraging. I think Andy Tods contract finishes this season hopefully he gets another offer,he has an eye for a pass. His brother John has another year on his contract, don`t know about the Sutherlands contracts. How many establish themselves in the first team time will tell but signs are encouraging. Reply |
88. Author: wee eck Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 09:12 Maybe there`s something to be said in favour of the Academy after all? How did Owen Hampson play? He got injured not long after he arrived on loan and hasn`t had a chance in the first team. It`s probably too late for him now. Reply |
89. Author: Higgys Mohawk Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 10:07 Lanza John the legend again. Cancelled his birthday to lead us to victory! Great result for the young Pars. Hopefully get to see a few of them away at Morton if we are safe. Could this successful youth team be classed as the previous owners legacy? Reply |

91. Author: sonofpetrie Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 11:18 wee eck, Thu 24 Apr 09:12 Hampson was quite anonymous tbh. That`s not a dig at him in the slightest. Things just weren`t happening for him. This was magnified by some others on the park playing exceptionally well. I think I goes to highlight the fact that the young loans were really no better than what was here already. 92. Author: brian Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 11:25 Yes will be highlights Also planning to put up full game replay that was recorded. The 4g connectivity was not the best until early second half when it suddenly was fine. ____________________ contact: email me File Share: https://share2.co.uk ParsTV: https://ParsTV.co.uk Reply |

94. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 13:08 A good battling win – we started well, deservedly took the lead, fell out of it a bit then regrouped as the game got a bit towsy. A 5-3-2 – not sure if this is deliberately mimicking the first team. probably more the best team given the players and the opposition. Mehmet in goal, Fisher RCB, Young CB and J Tod LCB. Tod looked impressive, particularly early on striding out of defence with the ball. Obviously the situation changed when we had a lead to defend. McLeod at RWB and Hoggan at LWB. Hoggan looks good almost every time I see him – I’m not sure how he’s getting on at Gala but he did score a wonder goal a few weeks ago. McLeod I feel is better more centrally IMO but perhaps needs must. We looked very lightweight in the middle of the park – a Craig Clay would have been good, but commendably McLaughlan didn’t pick any first-teamers. Hampson reminded me a little of Moffat or Summers – a nice touch and could be very good in youth football but loses the ball too easily for me. Taylor-Clarke also looks quite slight but perhaps more able to stick a toe in. Andrew Tod is an enigma – good skill, a bit cheeky, and looks to have bulked out a bit. He appears to be a free-spirit, which may be an issue for some coaches who favour rigidity. He did well to maintain his discipline in face of some severe provocation. The Sutherland brothers combined well as you’d expect. Our first goal was pretty simple – a free-kick in the middle of the park, delivered by Fisher with one of his typical driven cross-field balls, Young nodded back across goal and Taylor headed home. The second was OTC drilling a shot through a crowded box which I thought took a deflection. But if you don’t shoot you don’t score. He was hopping about with cramp before the ball hit the net. Their goal was one where we couldn’t clear our lines – we seemed to have run out of puff after a good first half – a ball from the right and a good finish. The referee (edit: Daniel Graves) didn’t handle the game well IMO. He allowed a couple of blatant shirt-pulls to go unchecked early on and that set the tone – lots of pushing and shoving and niggly fouls culminating in the assault on Andrew Tod and subsequent melee. There could have been any number of dismissals at that point but I guess officials are told to restrict it to one per side, if possible. We might see Mehmet (he made a vital stop right at the death) and Andew Tod at Cappielow – maybe OTC, but I don’t think we can play many as the majority are still out on loan? I wondered if Taylor would be allowed back on the pitch to get the trophy after his sending-off and his deputy Sam Young would pick up the silverware, but he was there after all. The academy seems to be bearing fruit – or maybe it’s the coaching? Is it better value than rejects from the bigger clubs or academy graduates from a middling English team? I think so. 95. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 13:08 Finally, is this what it feels like to be a Celtic or Rangers fan? Winning cups all the time (well, a Celtic fan). It’s getting a bit boring. Reply |
96. Author: wee eck Date: Thu 24th Apr 2025. 13:57 `The referee (Grant Irvine, I think) didn’t handle the game well IMO.` The ref was Daniel Graves according to COWS. Grant Irvine usually handles Premiership and Championship matches. I doubt they`d give him a Reserve game, even if it was a cup final. Reply |
