Topic: New strip special?

With 2025 being the 140th anniversary since we were founded, should the club be putting out a special centenary edition for next season?
If we picked a classic look what would you go for?

More chance in 2035 IMO. But if I were to choose, it would be the 1961 cup winning strip, black shorts, and red socks. Away kit based on our original colours and a third kit based on the red/blue check shirt in 95/96.

If we`re 140 years old, we won`t need a Centenary strip.

Quite like how were alternating, one season candy stripes, the next thick black stripes-candy stripes my favourite, as it makes us a bit unique (even though plenty clubs had them in the 60s) although the thicker stripes remind me when it first started going every week when Harry Melrose was managing -some good teams there.

My apologies. Of course it’s not a centenary year but I think you know what I mean 😉

Alan Ferguson of Giffnock owned a lingerie store in one of the more affluent locations thereabouts, hence the journalistic remark in the match press report - Glasgow Herald possibly.

It was actually the stand side linesman who was the key witness in Brown’s early bath.

I just watched the highlights a couple of days ago.
Yeah it was the linesman who alerted the ref to the off the ball assault on Mark Smith.
If the game was played today there would have been two more straight reds.
Chris Woods when he brought down Smith one on one and Big Norrie for deliberate handball as last man.

Quiz question - which player featured for different teams that knocked Rangers out of the Scottish Cup in successive seasons 1980s - no googling 🤔

Lap of honour 🥳 I don’t remember him having to make a save in the game at EEP.

I’m only saying this as I just watched the game again but he did save from a Davie Cooper rocket and held on to the ball.

The LoH would be for SusieQ.

Was McKellar not on a loan or short contract as we had a goalkeeper problem at the time ?

Smith`s goal must have been the flukeiest seen from a Pars player at EEP !!!

Too easy VEE 🤪

Yes he was on loan - we had Nicky Walker for 1 game but he was recalled to Rangers when Chris Woods got sent off in the OF game.

Hans Segars came after him, I`m sure, so it must have been a short term loan.

What a memory recall - impressive.

Segars only played a handful of games (4 ?), also on loan.

I had forgotten about Nicky Walker - the "Shortbread Family" international keeper !!!

Hans stand, Hans stand. . .Hans stand, Hans stand !

Apparently he was famous for celebratory hand stands at games. . .after we Pars fans chanted for one at East End, he tried and failed. . .gave us a laugh anyway.
