As others have said, I don’t mind putting my hand in my pocket if we will be competing for promotion.
Last season left a bad taste in the mouth, the fans did their part buying season tickets and record shirt sales but it wasn’t matched by bringing in the quality of player required to meet our ambitions. This lead to a situation where we were paying top dollar in the league to watch absolute dross. That can’t continue but happily we are under new ownership since then and I believe they have higher regard for sporting performance than the previous regime. I wouldn’t blame supporters if they wanted to see a few signings before renewing tho.
Also it the rise barely outpaces inflation anyway.

Inflation sitting at 3.5% as of April 2025 and some folk are still moaning about a 5% bump? it’s hardly the end of the world, especially when you look at where we were a year ago. Feels like the club’s fair pricing model is continuing.
Lennon coming in was a proper statement and good to see the board got their guy, He usually knows how to get a tune out of a squad. And now he’s brought in his own backroom team? That’s huge. No more square pegs in round holes or carrying dead weight. We’ve been doing that for far too long.
There’s a proper sense of direction now. You can feel it. The deadwood’s out the door, and we’re finally acting like a club with ambition again. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a couple of new signings announced early next week, perfect timing for boosting season ticket sales.
Honestly, can’t wait to see what Lenny does with a bit of cash behind him and a squad he’s actually picked himself. Could be a really fun season coming up.

Absolutely wasn`t going to renew next season as the dross served up on the pitch the last two years plus the utter lack of transfer activity in the summer meant I barely attended & the ST was def not value for money!
Staying up, new owners & now a permanent manager, the calibre of which is above what we`ve had recently (with no disrespect) means there`s definitely renewed optimism that we can finally mount a sustained challenge at the right end of the table once again so yes I will be renewing after all.
Let`s hope the optimism bears out for a change haha!

Not everyone will be able to afford to buy a season ticket at the raised price. There’s no need to have a go at them, either.

Putting 5% on ticket prices is probably small beer for the owners, considering what they have spent on the new management now and last season ?
I’m a bit disappointed, if I’m being honest. The fans have had to put up with dire performances for two years. It would have been a good gesture to keep the prices the same.
I agree with this. The last couple of seasons have been absolutely atrocious for the price we have been paying. Clubs with lower prices and lower fan bases have been able to do way better than us. Fans of other teams have rightly been wandering as to why we have been so poor. Hopefully this is the turning point. I think we deserve more.

If you cant afford it, that is not the clubs fault. Probably not yours either, but if we want a team that can compete, we need to pay for it.
We could try a means tested benifit category, but it is not easy controlling abuse.
I wonder if we could organise a fans help fans donation system to help genuinly needy fans get season tickets.
Who has the time to get involved in something like that?

I don`t have any time to organise something like this, but I would donate £100 to it if someone else set it up.

Nice one. I might be interested in cjatting with some other interested parties to see how we could administer this fairly.

I’d agree with you, Buffy, if people were moaning just about affordability , but that’s not what it sounds like. Most of the complaints seem to be about the quality (or lack of it) on the pitch last season. That’s fair to a point, but I don’t get how people expect better performances without putting more money in.
You can`t have it both ways. Better quality means better players, better players mean higher wages simple as that. How are we meant to fund that without increasing prices a bit?
Like I said in my last post, inflation’s running at 3.5%. So even without any improvements, a rise close to that is just keeping up with costs. The extra 1.5%? I’d guess that’s going into the manager’s budget. We all keep saying we want to push for top 4well, that takes cash.
If someone turns around and says, "I just can’t afford it," fair enough, I totally understand that. But most of the moaning isn`t about affordability. The squad last year scraped survival. If we want to do better, we’ve got to invest. That money’s got to come from somewhere.
You can`t just shake the magic money tree. And let`s not forget, our wage bill last year was:
£832,624 per year
£16,012 per week

If the owner’s expected to cover everything without any return, he’ll eventually walk. That’s what businessmen do, if it stops making sense financially, they move on and Bord will be no different.
We want better? We need to back it on the pitch and off it.
