Remember Stevie Boy has `earned the right` to **** up the World Cup qualifiers. Cause that`s more important than actually qualifying.
His record over the last 20 odd games is an utter disgrace. There is a massive fallacy built up around how he saved the Scotland team but the performances are worse than the ones that got McLeish sacked. He has benefitted from a midfield that is easily top 15 in the World, and some top class defenders but we are as awful as ever.
McLeish should get the credit for the first Euros, then Clarke shat the bed. The second qualifying is really built around the 3 minutes of the Norway game where we were utterly atrocious. England have now had 3 foreign managers, Belgium, Brazil, all happy to take foreigners but not the pathetic old men that run the SFA. They want a grateful weegie in the job so they can continue to swan about on massive salaries when they should be in a care home.
That’s the biggest pile of p1sh I’ve read on here in many a year and that’s saying something!

The day after the night before, and I’m absolutely scunnered, folks — properly scunnered. I’ve been traipsing through to Hampden for pretty much every home game over the past 20-odd years, and last night was the first time I’ve ever left early. Just couldn’t stick it anymore.
A lad on our supporters bus asked me, “When was the last time you actually enjoyed a game?” And honestly? Probably the Spain win — over two years ago.
I don’t know if it’s just me — and I’m starting to worry it might be — but watching this Scotland side has me seriously questioning if I even want to be part of the modern game anymore. I used to bang on about style of play under both Tidser and McPake… but at (almost) 45, am I just turning into a dinosaur?
Under Clarke, we look so flat. No urgency, no tempo, no width. It’s like watching Celtic at their worst — endless passing, often at walking pace, going nowhere fast. We don’t press, we don’t tackle, we just… usher players along. It’s utterly dire to watch.
And the “famous Hampden roar”? Give me peace. It’s a myth these days. Last night was another example — the players offered nothing, and the crowd just sat in silence or moaned. Totally flat from start to finish.
I’ve backed Clarke plenty over the years, but I honestly think it’s time for a change. I’ve never bought into the “he always picks the same players” stuff — he has refreshed the squad over time — but he’s gone stale, and he can’t keep leaning on past loyalty.
We’ve made no progress in finding a proper replacement for Craig Gordon, and last night was cruel on Ciaran Slicker. Clarke said he had no choice due to injuries, but surely they saw in training over the last squad that he wasn’t ready? That lad should never have been put in that position — someone’s son, chucked in like that. Felt awful for him.
Defensively, we were a shambles. Robertson looks like he’s regressing. Johnston was no more than okay. Tierney looks like injuries are catching up with him, and Hanley — at this level — is done. It was actually embarrassing how often Gudjohnsen got away from him. Don’t know how it came across on TV, but in the ground, it was glaring.
Midfield wasn’t any better. Ferguson and Gilmour didn’t work, McTominay looked absolutely done in, and McGinn… honestly, when was the last time he had a good game for us? He’s either wasted out on the left or just off the boil completely. We’ve got to stop pretending he’s untouchable.
I thought Hurst looked promising. Missed the header, yes, but did what he could and looked an upgrade on Dykes. From the subs, only McKenna and Miller really got the chance to make a mark — and both did well. Miller actually looked like he belonged, and McKenna showed he’s a better option than Hanley.
I’ve already accepted we’re not going to the World Cup. Denmark and Greece look miles ahead of us. But how did it get to this? I can’t help but feel Clarke’s negativity has seeped into the squad. They’re turning inwards instead of getting stuck in, and that comes from the top.
Feels like we’re writing off another campaign before it’s properly started, but I really hope the SFA are already looking at who might come in next. Because something has to change.
Gid post Buster. . .spot on.
