OL are appealing the decision citing the sale of Crystal Palace shares and the OL ladies team, plus selling off or releasing high salaried players. If the appeal is unsuccesful i can look forward to seeing them at Stade Bauer next season. Reply |

I know a PSG fan-yes he’s actually from Paris so no just a wee guy who decided to support PSG 😂 He was saying how Lyon aren’t a well liked club in France. One of these clubs that some of their supporters groups tied to their identity to the right wing saluting type. Apparently there is some respect between PSG and clubs like Marseille even though there is a heated rivalry but Lyon are generally hated 🤷🏻♂️ COYP Reply |

Author: RedStar93 Date: Mon 30th Jun 2025. 18:52 Yeah NMCmassive, there is definitely a hatred between Olympic Marseille and Olympic Lyon, Oct 2023 the OL bus got bricked on route to the Veladrome in Marseille, and OL head coach got his face cut to bits and the game suspended. I also remember OL supporters buses being attacked by PSG fans (one set on fire and burnt out) on route to London for a european game. For "Le Classique", PSG v OM, no away fans were allowed, as far as i know that still stands, the police have the final say when/if away fans will be allowed to attend. Even at Red Star games there are usually a few police vans, but from what i`ve seen its more traffic control than anything. Fans leave the pubs with thier beer in plastic cups and head into Stade Bauer, i had a nice chat with a cop (my piss poor broken french - too much drink did not help - and his limited english) while holding a double whisky and coke waiting in the queue. The French do like a good riot after all. I take it the “red star” comes from red star Paris? How did you end up supporting them? COYP Reply |
6. Author: RedStar93 Date: Tue 1st Jul 2025. 14:14 I`d been here in France about a year and needed a football "fix", getting a bit homesick so checked the teams near me, I live in a wee village near Montargis (about 2.0 hours south of Paris). Auxerre (Ligue 1) is just over hours drive, U.S. Orleans (National League...equiv. 3rd div.) also about an hours drive, but Paris is easy for accessability, also only 5 Euros return by train. Went to a few Paris FC games (free tickets...trying to build a fan base), disappointingly pitiful atmosphere, fans sit on thier hands, hardly any colours, arrive late and leave early, but also met and talked to a few Red Star fans who went to PFC games for the free tickets and they told me Stade Bauer is a more "English", stadium and Red Star fans create a better atmosphere. So i bought a 7 Euro ticket (standing in the Kop) for a Red Star game at Stade Bauer, i met and chatted with older guys like me, wearing scarfs, discussing the game, involved in what happening on the park, the younger fans, flags and singing, i was "home", bought a scarf and a shirt, and now in the lottery for a season ticket. Paris FC is in a beautiful part of Paris, 13th arrondissement, quite posh, Red Star is in St. Oeun, politely put..not the nicest area of Paris, think Parkhead, Govan, Leith..etc..but working class area and friendly locals. I would recommend anyone who comes to Paris to try to go to a Red Star game (all ticket, book in advance), usually Friday nights, 8 o`clock k.o., there`s no issue (trouble) with the Metro, i travel from from St Oeun (north Paris) to Gare de Lyon (south of Paris) 15 mins, after the game for the last train home. I`ve seen more aggro in the last train out of Edinburgh back to Fife on a Saturday night. Reply |
