So Fisher equalised rather than Cooper, according to that report.

It was Cooper

Predictor league winner 2012/2013

Interesting that Connor Young was red-carded but the teams agreed he could stay on the park! Why can`t football always be played in that spirit? 😊😊😊

Context: Slavia Sofia play in Bulgaria`s `First League`.

Ground capacity: 25,000

League position, 2024-25 season: 9th out of 16.

----------------------------------------------------------

A good result for us, away, against a team that was better than us last season.

And we scored a goal!!!!!!!!

As well as Kane, no mention of Andrew Tod or Sam Young?

Watched the last ten. In case I needed a reminder, that squad is the absolute fear as it stands. Major surgery needed and we can only hope it`s happening in the background.

Might as well sack Lennon now, first pre-season game after a week of training some people will have us relegated already, unbelievable

I’m sure Lennon can see it mate, he’s not daft and I’m sure he’s been made promises…..let’s hope so anyway 😬

The major surgery has been done. It`s now up to the manager to breathe life into what remains with the help of a few transplants. I think today`s game was about gaining fitness and assessing a couple of trialists.

Watched the last 10 and making an assessment on the squad after a week or so training PARadise!! You are either a football genius or an absolutely deluded….my choice is the latter!

A run out against a good level of opposition, rotated teams between the 1st and 2nd half, scored a goal. Nothing wrong with that in the first game of preseason.

Looking forward to seeing the friendlies back here and who gets added to the squad before the Hearts game.

John Tod is some size now, hopefully not too long before we see him break into the first team!

Brief report on COWS now -

Our First Team rounded off a week’s training camp in Bansko, Bulgaria, with a closed-door friendly match vs PFC Slavan Sofia.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Bulgarian side taking the lead just before half-time.

The Pars equalised early in the second half with Josh Cooper scoring after a well-worked Pars move and Cooper reacting quickest in the box to put the ball past the Slavan goalkeeper.

The match was played on a very warm evening, and Pars played two different XIs in each half.

Starting the first half were: Deniz Mehmet: Freddie Rowe, Kieran Ngwenya, Kyle Benedictus, Chris Hamilton, Trialist, Kane Ritchie-Hosler, Charlie Gilmour, Keith Bray, Taylor Sutherland and Jake Sutherland.

Starting the second half were: Trialist: Jeremiah Chilokoa-Mullen, Sam Fisher, John Tod, Ewan McLeod, Ewan Otoo, Tashan Oakley-Boothe, Matthew Todd, Josh Cooper, Connor Young and Lucas Fyfe.

What`s with Angus and the gobbledegook? Is it some dodgy AI translation, an extra Y chromosome, or just terrible humour? šŸ¤”

I`m not getting my knickers in a twist, but I hope we`ve got a decent keeper lined up as an alternative to Tobi if he doesn`t return.

Plenty of time yet, but it`s looking a bit last minute to add top 4 chasing quality. The longer we leave it, the less time late signings have to gel.

My assessments based on the fact we have largely the same team that should have been relegated last season. Just saying the line up from yesterday is the fear, couldn`t care less about the performance.

Do you think Neil Lennon took the job without guarantees on transfers. There will be several players in the door before the league kicks off. The club is looking beyond Scotland at players.

It doesn`t make any sense to assess a group of players with no regard to performance but, in any case, yesterday was mainly about fitness.

BTW, just noticed that Zeke Cameron did not take part.

Folk acting like the season`s already over because we lost a bounce game in June. If Lennon wasn’t confident in what he could build or if the board had told him the purse was bare, then why would he bin half the squad? He’d have clung to experienced bodies if there was nothing coming in. The fact he has cleared the decks suggests he believes better is out there and achievable within the budget.

Let’s be honest, if the friendly has changed his mind on anything, then it’s probably just reaffirmed what most of us knew that this squad still needs more in key areas. No drama in that. The reality is most players in our bracket aren’t tying themselves down early, they’re waiting, weighing up options, or still under contract until the end of June.

I’m also curious about this recruitment ā€œteamā€. Would be good to know if it’s structured like a modern setup with defined roles or more of an informal network Lennon taps into. Either way, it’s a sign that they’re trying to improve the process, not repeat past mistakes.

People were rightly raging about how the Tidser move was handled, but credit where it`s due the board admitted the mistake and learned from it. I’d rather they take time and get it right than sign players early for the sake of appeasing fans.

Plenty of time yet. Judge the window when it shuts, not based on a pre season friendly where half the players are still trying to shake off the rust. No pitchforks getting sharpened by me just yet.

c'mon the pars
