61. Author: Berkey Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 18:08 If TOB looks like a championship midfielder throughout the game then I’d suggest he’s defo stepped it up since last season. Keen to see if he can keep this going with better options around him and against full time opposition. Decent afternoons work, hopefully a big week coming before a real test of where we are against hearts. The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
62. Author: Gaz3822 Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 18:17 I know that John Tod is regarded as the better prospect. I`m sure Lenny will give him his chance, but its all down to the individual. I`d love the 2 Tod`s to fulfill they`re potential. We could have a few quid on our hands also. Reply |
63. Author: GJS93 Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 18:28 seen Tod a few times and today wasnt a surprise, think its a little early for the championship though. Amade did alright although it was a stupid pass for their goal, Davidson did alright too and can see him being offered a deal even if its a "development" player on the fringes like Cameron, can see why Fyfe is highly rated and scored the goals he has, great finish for his goal. after that, much of a muchness whether it be individually or the system/style. edit: Lennon confirms speaking to Davidson about a deal. also.. “We need some more bodies in, there’s no question of that. Obviously goalkeeper, strikers, I need a couple of strikers in and the wide areas as well. Midfield is strong, we’ve got good variation in there at the minute but we need to add at least five or six bodies to what we already have. We let a lot of players go in the summer and Keith Bray has come in because he was already signed and then Charlie and obviously Alphons. It’s all right wanting something, it’s getting the right ones in and it takes a bit of time but I’m pretty confident of the way things are going at the minute that we’ll get there.” By next weekend? “Maybe not the weekend but for the start of the league campaign for sure.” Post Edited (Sat 05 Jul 20:15) Reply |
64. Author: Angus_W Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 18:52 That’s more like it! I haven’t come away from a Pars game in ages feeling that upbeat. We look like we know what we are doing, playing as a team, tactically well set up & players responding to what’s asked off them. Lots of quality on the pitch. Not going to single anyone out we just look well drilled & organised. “.........it ain’t over till the Pars score!” Reply |
65. Author: king lad Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 19:42 Was pleased with that today, physically I thought the players looked pretty sharp for the most part and more of an emphasis on attacking moves than I`ve seen the last couple of preseasons, even if they didn`t all pay off. Some promising performances from the younger guys as well which is always good. Davidson looks worth a deal, thought he looked very comfortable albeit against weaker competition. Certainly require a goalkeeper as a priority, left sided central defender and probably another couple wingbacks and two strikers. Amade has a wee bit about him in that deeper role, quite creative and gets around the pitch well I think he`ll improve the midfield. Reply |

68. Author: PARadise Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 21:07 Very happy with what I saw today. I think some proper quality in the two striking areas to make the ball stick up top a bit more will make a big difference. Cracking goal from Fyffe and overall intensity and structure was there. I imagine Lennons across this already but imo if your playing a back 3 your wingbacks need to be the best players in your team, I`m not convinced Otoo will excel in that position and the jury is still very much out on Ngwenya and KRH. NL comments after the game were very refreshing regarding recruitment and if he`s happy with how things are and confident for the start of the league that`s good enough for me. Reply |

70. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 21:21 I would describe it a a 3-4-1-2 which seems consistent with recent games. First half: Mehmet JCM Davidson J Tod KRH Amade TOB Otoo Bray T Sutherland Cooper It finished Mehmet Fisher Bene Ngwenya McLeod Hamilton Todd Rowe Fyfe J Sutherland Young Young and Fisher came on at HT for JCM and Bray with Cooper dropping back. 71. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 21:23 NL seems quite relaxed about the recruitment situation. That suggests we have some irons in the fire. It sounds like he wasn`t expecting to have a full squad in place for the League Cup. Reply |

74. Author: onandupthepars Date: Sat 5th Jul 2025. 23:36 In his post-match, NL gave some news on Gilmour, Kane, Zeke Cameron and Young, but nothing about Andrew Tod, so fingers crossed he`s OK or will be available soon. He gave some clarity on the recruitment: “We need some more bodies in... goalkeeper, a couple of strikers and the wide areas as well." "we need to add at least five or six bodies to what we already have." "It’s all right wanting something, it’s getting the right ones in and it takes a bit of time but I’m pretty confident of the way things are going at the minute that we’ll get there.” "By next weekend?" “Maybe not the weekend but for the start of the league campaign for sure.” https://dafc.co.uk/neil-lennon-post-kelty-hearts/ Post Edited (Sat 05 Jul 23:39) Reply |
75. Author: ParsAreTheLoveOfMyLife Date: Sun 6th Jul 2025. 01:50 One of my good friends is a Hibs season ticket holder, and he was saying that Lennon isn`t quick off the mark with signings. He takes his time to try and find the right people. They were frustrated at first with the lack of activity, but it all came good in the end. We need to trust the process. I think there`s a few aces to come soon. Reply |

77. Author: CitizenPar Date: Sun 6th Jul 2025. 13:54 I`m going to risk criticism again, but I thought Deniz was sound yesterday. It`s always been ny belief, with a decent defence in front of him, he`s a good goalkeeper. Reply |
78. Author: wee eck Date: Sun 6th Jul 2025. 14:04 He completely lost his confidence at the start of last season and it would be a slow process rebuilding that I suspect. NL doesn`t seem to favour playing out from the back so that might suit him too. It`ll be interesting to see who NL recruits in that position. Reply |
79. Author: Buster_Brown Date: Sun 6th Jul 2025. 14:28 CitizenPar, Sun 6 Jul 13:54 I’ll stick my head above the parapet here, but I don’t think he’s as bad as some make him out to be. For me, he’s a back up goalkeeperand his career points to that, but I wouldn’t go as far as calling him a disaster. As has been said, his confidence was shot at the start of last season and that clearly didn’t help him. If we have to start this season with him as our number one, I don’t see it as a huge issue, as long as he’s not the long term solution. Reply |
80. Author: McCaig`s Tower Date: Sun 6th Jul 2025. 14:31 I wonder if there are some clues as to the likely starting eleven given some players played nearly an hour – many will have to play 90 minutes shortly so it makes sense to step it up. Should we read anything into the fact that Bray and JCM only got 45 or that Jake and McLeod were involved in the initial warm-up? Presumably the East Fife game will provide further evidence. I enjoyed their new warm-up routine where they play 10 (or was it 12?) against 1 – line up in formation, play the ball quickly from the back through the midfield, knock it wide then have KRH or Otoo centre to the front players who are queueing up to thump it over the bar. We are certainly more direct than under McPake and Tidser (although it would be hard not to be). The 3-4-1-2 seems the way we will play but there are some areas of doubt for me. Mehmet will start unless there is a new signing. LCB is an issue – Tod looked good and Ngwenya seems to be favoured over Otoo in that role. Would Davidson play there if he signs? I’m assuming JCM and Bene will start. For the wingbacks – it looks like Otoo on the left and KRH on the right. I thought Bray played there but hasn’t in either of the games I’ve seen him feature. Centre midfield – I’m guessing TOB (since he was captain) and Amade. Maybe Gilmour comes back in? The forward trio is hard to pick – from what NL said I’d hazard Kane will play and I think Young has probably played himself into the team after a well-taken goal. Cooper has started well so he might play behind the front two, with Bray and Todd options. Reply |
