Not sure what the post was, but I couldn`t give two hoots about the coefficient.

Doesn’t the coefficient also contribute towards Scotland’s pots in qualifiers ?

I don`t think so - that`s purely based on national team performance.

Separate co-efficient for the national and club trans.

After this week, it’s certainly bugg***d for Scottish clubs.

Fair enough. I thought it did but wasn’t completely sure.

It used to but they decoupled it, I think it changed around the start of the nations league which is used to seed National teams now

If you have any type of long term thinking capability and see there being even a remote chance for us to finish in the top 5 in the SPL or maybe get to a cup final, the coefficient starts to be somewhat relevant to Dunfermline athletics fortunes.

Not really.

I judge Dunfermline`s fortunes on our ability to compete and win things in Scotland. The gap between the OF and the rest is so laughably large that it`s a `shock` when someone other than the OF makes a final, let alone wins a trophy .

The coefficient plays a huge role that gap widening.

I`d happily trade a few less entries into European comps to increase our chances of actually winning something.

A poor coefficient plays a bigger role in the gap widening 🤷🏻‍♂️

A better coefficient gives the smaller clubs a better chance of progression and a better chance of making more money while a poor coefficient would mean the top two will become the only two with a chance of making money.

The gap in wealth (and because more money = more signing power) is clear, so I don’t understand how limiting the opportunities for everyone else would benefit closing that gap? Surely more money and more exposure to European fixtures would benefit the smaller clubs? I actually think both Aberdeen and Hibs were unlucky but they’d both benefit from having the same opportunity next season. It would allow them to rectify the mistakes they’ve made this time 🤷🏻‍♂️

Aberdeen still have an opportunity this year.

The recent amount of guaranteed money , teams like Aberdeen, Hearts, Hibs , get for going to the group stages between 5and 7 million risks a 3 tier Premier league , with the old firm, then the next 3 , financially breaking away from the rest.

Rangers and Celtic should be able to get some decent coefficient points in the Europa. Aberdeen have a really tough draw, statistically the hardest when you look at relative coefficient points, so they`ll do well to get many.

Maybe we should just shut Scottish football off from all European competitions and have our own wee football world!!!! IT’LL BE AMAZING!!!! We could play spin the bottle to see who wins the league the first season but get this-they aren’t allowed to win next seasons league a since they’ve already won it. That way, it gets shared out equally between all teams

C’mon man! Like there’s always going to be teams more dominant than others, it happens in every league in the world. We are just in the position that the Glasgow ugly sisters are double the size of everyone so they’ll always be a step in front of the rest of us. 3rd down however-that always changes 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah it does look difficult for them! Still be great if they can pull something out the bag maybe a couple of wins at Pittodrie and see what happens
