Imagine someone bought you the Harfnarfdhur one as a Christmas present and you had to hang it up in the house- a permanent reminder of the game every time you looked at it

Estimated 50,000 Celtic fans travelled to the ground ?

There were many locked out, but that figure is a vast exaggeration.

Lots stopped at Kincardine Bridge and sent back I heard.

Did we not play in all blue?

The strip was a duplicate of Chelsea`s home kit at the time, all blue shirts and shorts with all white socks.

In those days if there was a colour clash the home team changed into its second strip.

Yeah I think the reason for that was back in the day it wasn’t uncommon for away teams to not know if there was a colour clash and turn up with their normal ones.
Was easier for the home team obviously to change into their second strip.

Sorry Brian. That`s maybe my fault, I`ll try to be more positive....

"Roll up! Roll up! Get yer historic last minute winner for Hafnarfjordur at McDiarmid Park UEFA Cup defeat commemorative print here! A fantastic opportunity to have a lasting reminder of your worst ever memory following The Pars. Relive that moment when Wallsy stood up and emotionally roared "David Hay, what have you done to the Team that I love", remember that long wait to exit the car park, nearly in tears"

I started watching the Pars in 1971 and can’t remember them ever having a blue away strip in this period. It used to be red until the modern era when away strips could be anything.

Clubs have to register the design of their club colours with the appropriate ruling bodies for all competitions - so ignorance is not in the scenario ......and it was the home team who were obliged to have a change kit, if required, in that era.

Not as if Celtic and Dunfermline would not know their respective outfits, or if an alternative was needed - only 3 months previously Celtic went to all green for the Pars cup visit to Parkhead.

If memory serves the Pars also played in the all blue outfits in other home games in that period, including Europe.

The pink and white version of the early/mid 60`s was quite fetching !!!

The all blue outfit was only for home games where a change of strip was needed.

Apart from that Celtic game 20/04/1968 I mind it was worn for the Anderlecht game - and maybe Slovan Bratislava ?

I was at that game.As a nine year old,it was the most terrifying night of my life.I always think,it could have been another Ibrox disaster. An older Celtic fan, lifted me up on his shoulders, shouting, let the wee man see his team! Left well before the end, that fear ,never left me. Definitely, blue strips that night !
