..."are Rangers fans and go to the European games"

He`s done an exceptional job but actively saying this in a Sky interview yesterday is an absolute howler. Talk about alienating your fan base.

I don’t get how this is alienating?

Football players are humans and football fans too. They should be free to support who they like and attend any game they like without retribution.

Saying they shouldn’t be free to do that is like something a fan of the biggoted brothers would say.

I am sure the Falkirk fans are delighted for the manager to broadcast this to all and sundry.

"Your players all wish that they played for today`s opposition. A big club that they all really support - not just the one they are currently taking money from."

You think he would have said that had the rangers 2012ers won yesterday?

I suspect a good portion of our own team are OF supporters as well.

that absolute Mutant Andy Rodgers used to gloat on social media about going to watch falkirk on a saturday and rangers on a sunday.

Paul cook used to get slated at portsmouth by the fans for going away to liverpool european games during midweeks (and being a pIsshead but thats another story)

That`s not the point, though.

Who said there should be retribution or that they weren`t human?

It`s the sheer explicitness of saying "aye we`re playing them now but half the lads will be cheering them on next week"

I hate them but it’s even more to their credit they should have won the match unless they all had bets on Russell Martin losing his job .

Their players looked more than happy with that cracker of an equaliser on Sunday.

Aye because they knew that it would finally get Martin the sack :-)

McGlynn made those comments in the pre game interview btw.

Just stating the obvious i think, not really a big deal IMO.

Most recent i can think of for us is Michael O`Halloran was a regular at Celtic games when his team weren`t playing.

And he played for rangers too. Probably didn`t go to many Celtic games when he was their employee though

Agree it isn’t too much of a problem. Was Willie Miller not a Rangers fan and look how well he did for Aberdeen and his refereeing career too!

Yeah, it`s not stating anything we dont already know, but maybe that`s something for after the game or for a "wee" team playing one of them in a one-off cup game or something. Before a match jn the same league as them that`s pretty tin-pot IMO.

I used to go to many Rangers and Celtic European games in my youth. Saw Rangers beat Bayern Munich and Celtic beat Benfica. Always went to Dunfermline games at Ibrox, Parkhead or Firhill with my Dunfermline scarf on though. Was always proud to be a Fifer.
