Is it just me, or is money FIFA`s only consideration when deciding where to stage a WC? Back to the Middle East after only 12 years. Whatever happened to the promised continental rotation? When will Asia, Africa, or Australia see a(nother) WC, if ever? ![]() Not your average Sunday League player. Post Edited (Wed 31 Dec 16:42) Reply |

It`s a farce, this country should not be hosting a sporting tournament - what about female fans, gay and lesbian fans? A farce Africa will have a couple host with Morocco in the 2030 WC, I believe Egypt made some noises originally to be interested- economically they are a mess, politically a disaster. As for Morocco, they certainly have the stadia and infrastructure, not to mention fans, but again, there have been quite big local protests at the huge cost, the Moroccan economy is not working for many. I love the WC, I tend to watch every game, and I`ve worked every tournament for 24+ years, but I`m not working this tournament probably, I`m wondering if this one is when I lose my love of it. Can imagine I wont watch much of WC2034 either. Football is just a sell out these days. Most money wins. How much have the Saudis paid Fifa to waive Ronaldos ban from qualifiers? Go look at Ian Hislop tearing Gary Neville a new one on HIGNFY about Qatar. Calls out numerous others as well and his points are valid. Neville looks very silly at the end of it and rightly so. This World Cup next year is going to end up a complete farce from the atmosphere side as stadiums will be massively diluted by neutrals. But no doubt Infantino and Trump will claim its the greatest ever. Reply |

There’s not that many countries that can deal with that many games/fans and when you look at the costs, there’s even less that want to. There’s definitely corruption and FIFA doing everything they can to rinse as much out of it as possible and now it’s became a logistical, financial and political nightmare. The UK as a whole could possibly physically host it but could you imagine the backlash about the costs and the potential egg shells that any politician who signs off on it walks. That’s why Saudi Arabia are getting 2034 and why Australia aren’t interested. COYP Reply |

The host nations fair enough but south America absolute joke. If you are interested in the finances of FIFA there is a good book called . The fall of the house of FIFA. It will be a bit dated but still a good read. Reply |
