If it’s what was mentioned in Hospitality yesterday, it’s a defender from Derby

He’s a 19 year old, inexperienced lad. Here’s hoping but you would imagine he has been signed for some cover ?

According to Derby County he can play in multiple positions.

“Turley impressed after joining League of Ireland First Division outfit Bray Wanderers on loan in January 2024, making 22 league appearances and a further three in the Leinster Senior Cup.

Turley, who joined the Rams on a three-year deal until 2027, played for Shamrock Rovers in the Leinster Senior Cup, as well as turning out in the UEFA Youth League.

A versatile player, Turley can play all through the middle of the park and has experience on the wing and at full-back.

His first season with Derby saw Turley regularly play for the Under-21s and he was also an unused substitute for the first team three times.

Turley has international experience, having risen through the youth ranks in the Republic of Ireland setup, playing at Under-16 through to Under-19 level.

He also made three appearances as a right full-back during the 2023 UEFA European Under-19 Championship.”

Signed a leprechaun to bring us luck?

I imagine that`s b@ll@cks info. Hopefully.

Good luck to the lad.

He`s actually got nearly 30 senior appearances in Ireland, not saying he`s experienced, just pointing out he might have something about him and not the usual loan signing from an English academy.

Mixed on this, it’s good to have cover but some of the young loans from decent championship clubs have been well off the level required to compete in this league so it will be interesting, again we’re long overdue a good young loan from down south.

Lennon said at the start of the window another defender was on the wishlist, might end up being a replacement for Fisher in the squad but more versatile which will probably get him a spot on the bench every week.

According to Transfermarkt he is a right back, but can play other positions. Not sure that should have been the priority this window after losing Barney mind you.

I think we still lack a striker option. Not sure if we will bring anymore in by end of play tomorrow but we need an addition up there.

Willing to wait and see with the lad. Generally, I don’t get too excited with the young lads coming on loan from England, as they can be quite hit or miss.

As always, hope he’s a good addition and he enjoys his time at the club
