| 8. Author: Stanza Date: Tue 17th Feb 2026. 15:52 Never underestimate the power of positive (or negative) thinking on the outcome of a sporting contest. My father played for Partick Thistle several times against both Celtic and Rangers. He told me that even if Thistle were leading with five minutes to play, they were never really confident of winning - all 22 players on the pitch still believed that the Old Firm team would get a late goal. That was 85-90 years ago, and the intervening years will have done nothing to change players` beliefs. IMO the greatest achievement of Alex Ferguson was developing the attitude of his Aberdeen team so that they actually BELIEVED they would win against Celtic or Rangers. _________________ Support Dunfermline Athletic Disabled Supporters` Club (DADSC) when you shop online with one of 8000 firms: http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/dadsc[Reply |
