Well we know Lennon isn`t happy and his opinion is the most important one

How do you blame the current board for the recruitment 3 years ago? šŸ¤” their first transfer window was last January šŸ˜‚

They’ve had the opportunity in 3/4 windows to replace with better players that are deemed to be ā€œprevious board signingsā€. They’ve failed massively to do so, NL has played Bene, Matty Todd, Chris Hamilton, Deniz etc countless times before ā€œhis signings. Bray, Caseres, Amade, TOB, McLeod, C Young etc all signed under NL, Cook and Bord.

Why if the recruitment is now better does the need to field these players add up? The answer is the recruitment has been as bad and if not worse than before. Plenty good signings previously came though the club (Edwards, Nisbet etc)

So Kdy Par
You didn`t answer my last question, so I`m guessing you think they`re underachieving ?

Let’s wait and see at the end of the season. No point in throwing your toys out the pram after a bad performance.

They have shown against Raith, Hibs and St Johnstone that on our day we are good enough.

A bit of patience is required.

For balance, the last three games have shown we’re no better than a bang average mid Championship side.

This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it.

It has been a Jekyll & Hyde season.

Our best feels to me better than our best from the last couple of seasons - Hibs, St J, Raith, Airdrie and Arbroath away - all real statement performances.

But our worst has been pretty abject. Some sound like they might have been at least as bad as our poorest performances under the previous two managers? I couldnt make Airdrie and Morton, so others will have a better idea.

What makes the lows even more frustrating is that we have seen how good we can be, have beaten a top 6 team from the league above and have been flirting with a playoff place. The bar has been set a bit higher.

A relegation scrap is never far away in this league though and it will feel like a real sucker punch if we end up spending the last 1/4 of the season mired in that. I`m hopeful we wont but we need to start turning the corner pronto.

We look much more threatening with Andrew Todd playing up front and having Chris Hamilton in the team.
He’s an honest local lad who despite the red card gives his all for our team.
We can’t do much now about our striking problems but it’s got so much worse since Morrison came into the team.
Either play him as a winger or forget him.
He’s not a striker.

Go four at the back on Saturday. Get Morrison and Bray on the wings a try something different. Things Lennon tried earlier in the season. 4 at the back when we beat Airdrie 4-0. Bray was very good on the right that night.

Now we just get the same formation and set-up and he whines about the players when I doesn`t work . Lennon needs a look at himself if he wants to impove things.

It’s like the days under mcpake all over again. We’re signing players but they don’t fit the formation we want to play. Morrison the latest one in the door who doesn’t work in a 532 but he’s still no signed a decent attacking midfielder.

The only difference between this season and last season has been that Andy Tod has banged a few in and so did Barney.

We’re still missing the key elements of a successful team. We appear to be missing character, resilience and fight. Add that to the already lack of quality in key areas and it’s causing us no end of problems. We’re still easily bullied and despite Lennon pointing it out in post match comments the same players are doing the same thing.

Couple of injuries and a few players form drops and it’s like an under 21 team against a team of pro’s.

Given we’re still relying on loans from down south who yet again look way off the level required, I’m not sure our recruitment under Lennon will improve all that much as it’s been more miss than hit.

Yes a few will leave in summer but Morrison will be on a good contract and if we continue with current set up that’s a waste of a wage.

they have tried four at the back since then including with and without Bray in the side and looked just as bad if not worse. last time at Arbroath playing three at the back was a 5-0 win, so do they stick or twist? if they win it wont matter, if not then obviously they should have done the other.

Ahoy!Ahoy!, Wed 18 Feb 13:47

Recruitment has been very hit and miss.

Still baffles me that 3 years later and Chris Kane is still our best striker and we haven’t addressed this issue.

We’ve struggled to score goals in the championship, even in league one we were hardly prolific, it needed fixed then and still needs fixed now.

Our squad is unbalanced with very little quality in forward areas.

Morrison was signed to play through the middle in that system, where he has been playing.

" despite Lennon pointing it out in post match comments the same players are doing the same thing."

because the players dont have it, hes not a miracle worker.

"Given we’re still relying on loans from down south"

2 players out of 16 signings.

"I’m not sure our recruitment under Lennon will improve all that much as it’s been more miss than hit."

most clubs especially at our level will be "more miss than hit"

I think we were fortunate having Barney when we did, with the goals that he scored. I never had great expectations this season but thought a push for the playoffs would be achievable. There has been 3 or 4 games where we have performed really poorly, and several others where we were just about average. Teams are going to come out and stop you playing. Morton and Airdrie did that. You have to rise to those challenges and realky compete and impose yourself on the game. We have shown in games where we can pass and move the ball quickly. Its got us results. We seem to have shrunk back into the shell of safe passing, balls to feet, doing the hard work to get up the park then passung it backwards. When you put the effort in to get up the park, you need to get the ball in the box otherwise its wasted effort.

Injuries to Todd, Kearney & Rudden have impacted the team`s performance. And newer signings always take time to adapt. I think the quality is there for a top four finish, but the team needs to start every game with the intensity they started the Hibs game.
