..will more or less tell what we’re going to be capable of achieving this season. Taking on two teams firmly positioned in the play off spots, if we can come out on top across the next 4 days it will give us confidence that we can push on and gain consistency towards the run in, however the opposite shows we’re not ready yet, and it’ll be about building further for next year. All to play for, and crunch time. COYP

I`ve given up on the league, they are just warm up matches for our next cup tie.

The money we have spent, not getting top 4 is failure. Lennon himself said that top 4 was the target

We have 13 games to play, not 2, in a very competitive league where probably only the top two are out of reach.

4th, and even 3rd are doable. We have shown our ability. Today will show if we have the mental fortitude to back our ability.
It`s a tough match to try to bounce back from two defeats so I would be happy with a point.
I think it`s a home win though.

Funny how expectations can rise - and fall.

If we can get a bit more consistency, and a decent striker, next season is the one we really look for promotion and meantime I’ll settle for good performances knowing we won’t always get them.

A win would be terrific today, a draw decent.

We’ll need pretty everyone bar the defence to play themselves back into form for us to have a chance of the playoffs.

The problem with us is when we play well we are a match for anyone in this league but when we are off form we are one of the worst teams in the league. So far looking at the wins and loses we’ve been off form more than on.

Barney is a huge miss for us. Feels like we have lost our most effective player.

..and yet our two best goalscoring performances were achieved without him. Are you paying attention?

But do you agree with that statement about Barney or not Eck ?
Personally I think we`ve really missed him..despite the fact he wasn`t in the team when we achieved our two best goalscoring performances 🙄

If we don’t take anything from the next 2 games, then the next two QP and Ross County at home could see us in 9th or 10th.

These next four games will determine how our season will end.

Not finishing in top 4 will be a massive failure

As things stand just now with Rudden and Macleod out long-term I`d prefer if Barney was still here but we`ve shown already this season that we can score goals without him. It`s up to the manager to maximise the performances of the players available to him.

Not consistently we`ve not. Perhaps you should pay attention more.

Barney scored important goals. He is sorely missed.

He`s gone and was never our player. We have to move on.

Since Stewart left we have only scored 1 league goal in 3 games and that was Fraser up at Perth. We haven’t addressed the issue of replacing him.

Oakley-Boothe has actually been a miss in midfield IMO. He was onto a game and we have been stinking since he went off injured at Perth.

He’ll be a welcome addition back into the team.

IMO playoffs is a must.
As much as I us want to beat Aberdeen and progress, getting promotion has to be the main priority.
Then we can enjoy big match days all season, not one day out.
Sure, progressing in the cup will be a distraction but it will breed confidence and hopefully consistency.. something we`ve really lacked over the years.

I blame Andy Rhodes for this!

The best we can ever hope for is a Scottish Cup win - and then a European trip or two.

As unlikely as it is, we could conceivably beat Aberdeen, get through a semi final if we avoided the winner of Celtic and Rangers and then you`ve always got some chance in a final.

It`s not even guaranteed that the winner of the Glasgow derby make it through the semi final given the way they`ve been playing - especially if Celtic scrape through.

Apologies wee eck, we also miss an inform Andy Tod getting on the end of things, ain’t seen that for 3 months so when you combine that with barney leaving you can see why we don’t really look like scoring again.

Tod scored at Kirkcaldy on 27 December. I think the main problem is a lack of chances rather than missing chances.
