| 22. Author: CrossPar Date: Sat 21st Feb 2026. 23:37 And we all know that the championship is much tougher to get out of than the 1st division and he managed that in one year and has taken them into the top 6. What I am saying is it is achievable with an astute manager, the correct signings and tactics. Sadly, we are lacking in some of those areas. Reply |

Hearts, Motherwell and Falkirk and the Arbroath fans. Bet the rest have these inquests every other Saturday night just like us. There`s not many astute managers kicking around out of work. Author: WarringtonPar Date: Sun 22nd Feb 2026. 00:01 CrossPar, Sat 21 Feb 23:37 It took him 3 seasons to get out of division one, he stuck to his principles and built a team capable of winning in the championship and the board at Falkirk stuck behind him. NL is still building from a weak position. If he’s still in this position next year and there is no further progress then you might have a point but until then, patience and support are the order of the day. Reply |

Author: onandupthepars Date: Sun 22nd Feb 2026. 03:53 According to wiki, McGlynn took over at Falkirk a day after the 2021-22 season ended.Unlike NL, McGlynn would have had the summer window and full pre-season when he started. The following season 2022 - 23 we won league 1. The season after that, 2023-24, Falkirk were undefeated champions. So it took McGlynn two full seasons to get out of League 1, and then straight up from the Champ`ship in one season. I`d say he excelled, and is continuing to impress in the Premiership. Credit where it`s due. Our circumstances were different. We won league 1 with McPake, but it was a slog, unlike when we won it in style with FEB back in ye olde days. I think it`s fair to say that McGlynn`s in a different bracket than McPake as a manager. He`s had more experience and success than any of NL`s predecessors: McPake, Grant, Hughes, Tidser. You could go back a long way to find a Pars manager who could match McGlynn. Even aside from the ownership situation, is it any wonder, after the managerial difficulties we`ve had that when NL came in it was to a `ship` that was near belly up. I agree with WarringtonPar: "NL is still building from a weak position. If he’s still in this position next year and there is no further progress then you might have a point but until then, patience and support are the order of the day." | 28. Author: LochgellyAlbert Date: Sun 22nd Feb 2026. 09:36 McGlynn hasn`t exactly had a glowing managerial career, he had several failed appointments prior to where he is now. It doesn`t seem that long ago when he was being mocked on this forum, being called "the penguin" whilst in charge at Kirkcaldy. Some on here have short memories! Reply |

I logged on and first thing I saw is yesterday`s score. I had tae grit ma teeth. It`s as bad as bein` at the bl**dy dentist! Reply |
