| 101. Author: RhinoPars Date: Sun 1st Mar 2026. 09:00 Unfortunately, Matty Todd went for power in what was a great chance for us to go 2 up. I was delighted to see skilful players like Amade and Cooper starting. It was also encouraging that for a change we started well with a higher tempo and a bit more directness as well as varying the play a bit more with some balls through the middle rather than always looking to go wide. Was a pity that on a few occasions we took the wrong option up front and failed to spot better opportunities to pass to someone who had moved into space and in a better position to score. As Berkey noted Cooper is one player who plays with his head up and has awareness. Again we had the odd ball in but no-one anticipating enough to get on the end of a cross ball in. A good striker anticipates where the ball is going to go and gets there. For me that is one thing Chris Kane gives us. Throught Amade and Cooper were great with Gilmour his usual consistent self. Amade made many more tackles and won the ball much more often than when he first played earlier in the season. While Abdulai again was great. He has been a wonderful signing and he is deceptively quick in recovery. Few have mentioned hime but I thought Kieren Ngwenya again also had a great game. Robbie Fraser`s final balls into yesterday were not as good as nomal. The new keeper had a great stop with his leg in the first half, and his distribution seems good, but I still am a little concerned about his ability in the air when challenged. So for me the jury is still out. I look forward to seeing the penalty incident again as on ParsTV it looked like a very soft award. However, after having so many clear penalties denied us this season it is nice to finally get one. I thought we were the better team, although Queens did on occasion cause us some problems and at 1-0 there was always a concern. We probably should have scored at least three yesterday and put the game to bed. I too have been a big Andy Tod fan for ages but I agree with others that he has not been as good as he was earlier in the season and he looks a bit tired. He also needs to stop going to ground so easily. Queens Park had been on a good run including taking a point off St Johnstone and showed they could threaten on the break. Thus was a great three points for us. Ross County also on a run so Tuesday will be tough. The Championship is such a competitive league and it is a pity that financially it is such a bad league to be in. Post Edited (Sun 01 Mar 09:07) Reply |

Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Sun 1st Mar 2026. 14:33 I think with Tod, Lennon would probably love to do what he did with his brother earlier in the season and take him out the firing line for a few weeks. Sometimes that’s exactly what a young striker needs a bit of breathing space. The problem is, we just don’t have the depth up top to allow it. Options are that limited that we can’t really afford to rest him, even if it will probably benefit him in the long run. He’s clearly struggling at the minute but he’s a young lad learning his trade in a tough division. That’s not easy for anyone. These runs will happen, especially when developing players. I’ve no doubt he’ll come out the other side of this rut and be a better player for it.The key is sticking by him rather than writing him off the minute confidence dips and goals dry up. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Post Edited (Sun 01 Mar 14:33) Reply |

| 109. Author: Berry Date: Sun 1st Mar 2026. 17:27 Great result, first and foremost 3 points was all that mattered. First half thought we played well, much more on the front foot but we have to be controlled when doing it, Queens Park had two really good chances to score thankfully the GK made a great save and the bar got in the way for the other. Second half we looked comfortable, Queens Park didn’t pose much of a threat. Have to say though, we still need better if we’re to secure 4th. I thought Andy Tod was worse than a man down at times. Morrison was a bit more bright however still haven’t seen him really beat a man yet. Thought Mullen did well tbh, few dodgy touches with the ball initially but settled - I genuinely don’t think he should be captain though, take it off him, let him just focus and enjoy playing. He’s not a very vocal lad, quiet on the pitch - doesn’t come across as a leader . I see some positive signs from Thomas, got himself about a bit, clearly very raw though. We need to nail the times we use Kane I think. Amade was exceptional, think it’s the best I’ve seen him and clear MotM. Reply |
| 110. Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 1st Mar 2026. 17:30 The only difference between teams in this leagie is level of consistency. As a team we are capable of beating anyone in the championship. The application against QP was much better and we looked a threat particularly in the first half. Its just about composure, decision making and awareness in the final third. Good to see we went through the middle more and tried to get into the box. Sometimes you just have to over commit in the box to get on the end of the ball G Wardrope Reply |

Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 1st Mar 2026. 21:24 Buster_Brown, Sun 1 Mar 20:15 I dont see it as criticism, more an observation that he looks a bit weary with the number of games he has had to play and the expectation on his shoulders. Its good to take a break sometimes to recover and return rejuvinated and fresh. G Wardrope Reply |
| 114. Author: Berkey Date: Mon 2nd Mar 2026. 12:40 What occurred to me is we loaned out young who is surely capable of producing the same level of performance as what Tod has managed over the last 3 months? I fancy young would stand up better to the physical test even if he doesn’t have as much potential The post below replying to me is by one of .nets finest champions of mediocrity! Reply |
| 115. Author: wee eck Date: Mon 2nd Mar 2026. 12:52 Young and Tod are different types of player. If Young isn`t scoring goals he`s contributing very little. Tod can link the play and he`s managed to score 10 League goals I think. We were screaming out for a 15-goals-a-season striker but now we want our most prolific scorer dropped! Reply |
| 116. Author: coventrypar Date: Mon 2nd Mar 2026. 16:08 Some of Tods touches are really really good, and there`s sometimes an awkwardness about his movement that the opposition don`t spot before its too late and he`s away. 3rd top scorer in the league - you don`t drop that from your starting 11 too often. He might need resting and come off after 60 mins or bring him on after 60 - the challenge is every game is crucial right now. Thomas up top is doing a lot right - I fancy him to get a goal soon. hes different to Barney of course, but he is a good loan signing. Best I`ve seen Amade play - his tackles so often were so clean and if he mucked up 7/10 he got the ball back. Abdulai is the find of the season - maybe for many a season. We will get good money when he goes. Fingers crossed we go on a bit of a 4 or 5 game run at the time to get in/stay in the 4th spot with momentum. I fancy us in the play offs - we seem to rise to the challenge of bigger games than the run of the mill ones better. "If you have no kind words to say you should say nothing more at all" Reply |
| 117. Author: Berry Date: Mon 2nd Mar 2026. 17:17 Thomas had a good first half and tailed off in the second. Tod was ok second half but was really poor first half. Agree with Berkey, Tod hasn’t been the same player since his call up to the National team and contract extension. Whether it’s rest that is needed or something else, he needs to find his form for the remainder of the season to be successful. Reply |
| 118. Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Mon 2nd Mar 2026. 17:51 Berkey, Mon 2 Mar 12:40 Is that the same guy who hasn’t scored a goal higher than League Two? As Eck says, they are different players, and Tod has scored in this league where as Connor Young couldn’t. Tod, okay, didn’t score, but he seemed to have some good touches and, most importantly, didn’t shy away from getting the ball. As I said, he desperately needs a rest, but we have nobody else who is good or fit enough to replace him. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply |

I thought he played well on Saturday as well, in the deeper role. We look much livelier with him in the team. Zwei Pints Bier und ein Päckchen Chips bitte ![]() Reply |
