Clearly the moves behind the scenes at RR was to cut tgeir cloth. Not huge losses but it depends how deep the directors pockets are.

That was offset by a 200k investment from their stadium owner.

Its still a loss that the directors have had to fund. Appears that there is no likliehood of going into admin.i wonder what this will mean for them at the end of the season in terms of reducing their overheads and wage bill.

What I meant was the loss was really £ 383k.

I think you`re confusing profit/loss and cash flow. The £200k is probably a loan which will be repayable in due course in which case it won`t have reduced the £183k loss. That would only be the case if it were some kind of donation or contribution which there is no need to repay.

Tired of pretending Raith Rovers are our villains. It’s always been Falkirk.

The reality is that we like them need each other.

The update from Rruaridh Kilgour a few weeks ago pointed out that there was an overspend - most of us think Andrew Barrowman got a bit spend happy on some improvements. Whether that is the case or not the board have apparently reigned in the spending. I was expecting slightly worse to be honest.

In terms of the cash provided by Sim - he owns the ground with no liability for it`s upkeep , so ultimately its in his best interest for the club to keep plodding on. Yes, it is a `loan`, but one I can see being demanded anytime soon.

For some reason I`m on a mailing list from the Rovers, and received this email today. To be fair, it looks to be a comprehensive review of what`s going on at the club (albeit with no mention of the club`s finances), and the promise is for a similar review on a monthly basis:

Dear Supporters,

As Ruaridh noted in his Board update several weeks ago, improving our communication with supporters is a priority.

This email marks the beginning of a monthly update from us to all supporters, covering the latest news from the Boardroom.

It has been an incredibly busy period, but an equally constructive one as we begin to shape several changes behind the scenes that will set the club up for its next period of growth.

General Manager

We are delighted to announce that Davey Byrne has accepted our offer to become the club`s new General Manager, with a start date at the end of March.

Davey was a standout candidate throughout the process, bringing a wealth of experience from his time in the SPFL with Montrose and Cove Rangers, and most recently with Lowland League side Caledonian Braves.

From his time at Montrose in particular, Davey has extensive experience leading commercial strategy with local businesses, ensuring they receive the value from their financial commitment and the deeper connection with their football club that they want.

He also brings strong expertise in matchday operations and community engagement, areas where Montrose have built a well-deserved reputation as one of Scotland`s leading community clubs.

His time at Caledonian Braves has given him valuable experience in creative and innovative thinking, particularly around branding, marketing and storytelling, which underpins their success as a fan-owned club built through crowdfunding.

We are excited for Davey to hit the ground running and become part of the team.

Stevie MacDonald

It was great to welcome Stevie MacDonald back to the Board last month. Stevie brings strong boardroom experience, having first joined in 2019 and served as Chairman between 2022 and 2024.

His addition brings the group back to four. We are still keen to recruit further Board members, provided they have skills or experience that would add value and can commit their time to helping the club on a voluntary basis.

Pitch

Despite our most recent communication indicating we would rejuvenate the existing pitch to get one more season from it, we are now exploring whether to relay a new astroturf surface this summer instead.

Following that update, lifelong supporter Alexander Latto got in touch to offer his advice and expertise free of charge. We are now in discussions with John Sim, with Alexander`s input, on whether to proceed with the original rejuvenation plan or relay the surface entirely.

For those who may not know Alexander, he served as Head Groundsman at Raith Rovers between 2007 and 2009 and is currently Assistant Head Groundsman at Murrayfield Stadium. We are grateful for his involvement.

On the Field

We share supporters` frustrations about recent league results and the position we find ourselves in, but we have complete faith in Dougie and the squad to finish the season strongly.

This Saturday`s match away to Dunfermline is a big one, and we urge as many supporters as possible to make the trip and show their support.

We still have aspirations to finish in the top four, and a win on Saturday would put us in a strong position to do so, particularly with five of our final nine matches at Stark`s Park.

The squad took part in a closed-door friendly away to Hibs on Friday afternoon, drawing 1-1 with Lewis Vaughan on the scoresheet. We were also delighted to see Callum Fordyce return to the pitch and completing his first full 90 minutes since October last year.

KDM Evolution Trophy Final

Our KDM Evolution Trophy semi-final win against Airdrie was a very special occasion, and a big thank you to all the supporters who travelled through to cheer the team on. It was a great performance, and the players showed exceptional character in the penalty shootout after conceding a late equaliser.

It is well documented how significantly the prize money has grown for this year`s competition compared to previous years, which makes the achievement from Dougie and the players all the more meaningful for the club.

We hope to see as many supporters as possible at Wyre Stadium at Firhill on 5th April. We have shared some very special moments in this competition over the years and hope to add to them by securing our third Challenge Cup final win.

We appreciate the support shown since the last Board update. We want to reiterate that our group is 100% committed and dedicated to the next phase of growth, having had to navigate a number of challenges over the last 12 to 18 months.

We are open and accessible. If anyone wants to get in touch to share their thoughts, raise a concern or offer support, our contact details are available on the club website.

Please get behind the team for the final stretch of the season. Nine league games remain and they matter enormously, both for where we finish this year and for setting us up for a big season ahead.

Thank you.

Board of Directors

Just saw that. How are they managing that?! Premier team, fairly packed stadium. Have they bought some big names or been working on their academy?

The figures do NOT include two major cash influxes which will show up in the next set of figures. Their European run, earning major UEFA cash and drawing three sell-out crowds for huge home games against Midtjylland, Partizan Belgrade and Legia Warsaw, fell outwith the period covered.

And the January sale of Kieron Bowie to Hellas Verona in a package worth up to £7 million, by far the biggest fee ever received for a player by Hibs, also won’t show up until next year’s financials.
