We are at a point now, where the level headed amongst us will be thinking stability, strengthen for next season and have a real go.
The more colourful will be thinking we should make at least forth and possibly 3rd then you never know.
Then there may be a handful at least of eternal optimists (like me) who really believe we could do it this year.
"Steady on now, there`s a bit to go yet," I hear. I also hear, "Fkn birdbrain`s got his heid in the clouds," but some folk jist have nae imagination.

Going by current form we must be favourites for at least 4th.
It isn`t too much to believe we can beat Arbroath, then Partick to get to the final.
Once there, I think neither St Mirren or Kilmarnock will be unfazed at the prospect of having to beat us to stay up after seeing us beat Hibs and demolish Aberdeen.

Of course I am on a wee bit of a high after 3 weeks of great results, and no doubt my enthusiasm might be curbed a little, should we drop a few points.
However, today as I sit relaxed polishing of a rather large Rusty Nail, I believe we can do it.

**** it, let`s be arrogant bastards and back ourselves to win promotion and the Scottish cup in one season. It may well be very unlikely, but it is far from impossible

I fancy us for 4th now for sure. Huge, huge ask to go up in the play offs but it`s not like anyone will relish playing us if we keep up a bit of momentum. Personally I`m just happy the plan appears to be clicking and obviously the cup run is a very welcome surprise.

Imaging getting told at the start of the season where we would be just now..
I`m sure we would have all bitten any hands off at this opportunity.
Me personally maybe sensible head not sure but ad rather have go at winning the league next season. Not totally sure we`re ready for promotion yet.
But I do believe we have a huge chance of taking Falkirk in the semis, from the highlights last night they looked no much better than Aberdeen.
And if a final should happen then who knows ... Who knows

Cmon ye pars

We are fans, so are allowed to think this way! If we don`t have hope , what do we have? And that`s not being a happy clapper.

We can do it, I think probably we will just have too many games (all really competitive)in a short space. The players will possibly be completely whacked, on the other hand - Momentum and adrenaline.

I have acute cup fever.

The league is just prep for climbing the Hampden steps to lift the cup.

Our team can go out and play with no pressure.

I know in recent years I have (rightly) written you off as, frankly, a lunatic for this brand of optimism Parrot but I do find myself in recent weeks wondering “what if”.

I mean, it isn’t entirely mental to think we might be able to go up. There is something special about this team and I suspect Lennons leadership has a lot to do with it.

If we can keep the current form up, avoid costly injuries, get the Ox back soon, get the break of the ball a few times, get the wind at our back…. It isn’t inconceivable.

Keeping up the standard of performance will be key. We haven’t been the most consistent this season overall.

But I think we can certainly make the playoffs. Ayr aren’t in great shape at the moment, couple more wins and we pull away from them a bit.

We can certainly beat Arbroath over two legs if we are on our game.

Partick are perhaps the biggest hurdle, we’ve never really looked like beating them but I think we certainly could.

Should we reach the playoff final, I wouldn’t fear Kilmarnock or St Mirren over two legs.

I’m not saying we are definitely going up but it’s certainly in the realms of reasonable possibility, and for once, we can actually dream without giving way to delusional optimism.

It`s our highest league positions since Stevie Crawford was in charge.

I say let`s go for it...

We possibly are not ready for a season in the prem but surely we will add some quality with the bigger budget.

My view is to work progressively on improving the squad, develop them and give them good 1st team experience. That way you have a core squad of players who can consistently hold their own in the premiership and make the step improvement in consistency that is needed. I see us with probably achieving 4th spot, with a bit of luck 3rd spot. Its still a big ask to get from there onto the premiership. What the last few weeks has demonstrated is that the players are good enough to beat premoership sides but you need to produce that week in week out and be able mentally with losing games but be able to bounce back. These are perhaps more mental challenges but thats the only difference in my view.

I’m sure Falkirk fas thought the same, I know this is what I thought about them, and look where they are now.

Enjoy the ride and whatever happens happens. I have faith that we’ll be ok.

The first hurdle is Arbroath (assuming we`re in the top 4).

I don`t think it makes that much difference whether we`re home or away first, so it`s probably not that important whether we`re 3rd or 4th in terms of the matches themselves.

Can we beat Arbroath over two legs? 100% yes. Will we beat Arbroath over two legs? I think it`s 50/50 at best. If we beat them at home in the league we`ll be all square for the season. I think their squad is a bit more streetwise than ours though, especially over two games.

If we get past Arbroath, can we beat Partick Thistle over two legs? 100% yes, but we`ve only taken one point from nine so far. I don`t see us suddenly being able to turn that around in the play offs.

Oddly, I`d be more confident about beating the Premier play off team than about the matches that we need to win to get there.

Finishing 4th would show great progress and you never know what can happen in the playoffs.

Overhauling Arbroath and finishing 3rd would be incredible and our highest finish in 15 years I think.

I don`t feel we should look upwards too much just yet as we have a tough run of games ahead. All 3 of our recent wins have been against teams in the bottom 6.
