Few have speculated we might play this and I can see the benefit of this too.

Abdulai can come in for JCM, Todd is playing ahead of Kearney and Cooper could play instead of Tod. Would leave us short on the bench but would stop us adding to the fixture pile up.

Think we should play it.

Can we recall Connor Young ?

What an opportunity we missed in 2014.

why would we take some sort of gamble with the Airdrie game if key players are missing that would seem odd to me

It`s not great for us either way, postponement or not. We really should have been playing Ayr tonight - had that been the case then 7th April would have been free for the Airdrie game and wouldn`t really be a problem. Since that date is now used for the Ayr game, the most likely option would be playing 2 midweeks in a row before the semi-final and also the midweek after.

If the Airdrie game could be the 31st, it would help. Not sure if that`s too close to the international dates to be an option. If not, and we`d have to play midweek on 7 April (Ayr), 14 April (Airdrie) and 21 April (St Johnstone), possibly followed by a heavy schedule in play-offs, I think I might opt just to play on the original date to get the game played.

Noticed Nurudeen Abdulai was omitted from the Ghana squad. Thought he might have had an outside chance.

Scotland play Portugal in Estoril on 30th as 2nd game of the window (Home game at Dens on the friday night). NI are in Latvia on 31st so would still be missing Kearney (if selected)

If Kearney and Turley are called up it will leave us short if Thomas is out.

Would be Ngwenya, Bene, Abdulai back 3, unless we change formation.

Bit of a dilemma with the potential fixture pile up (if we keep doing well).

I think we should play it. If we have to play a midweek before the cup semi final, Lennon would likely rotate the squad anyway. I think we should accept that some players are away but give the others the opportunity to get a result - and avoid another midweek game.

If Wikipedia is correct then JCM playing these two games would see him move into joint 5th on the all time U21 appearance table.

I bet that shower of hatchet men kick everything in a red shirt that night I’d honestly stick a weaker team out than normal just to keep key players fresh

Time to make best use of our pool of players. A good number are in really good form. What football players enjoy most is playing football. 7 games in 22 days could be a very pleasant prospect for most players. But we need to keep free from injuries and unnecessary yellow or red cards.

7 games in 22 days won’t phase the players who love to play as often as they can.
It’s just a headache for the manager and coaching staff dealing with recovery.
Airdrie game will have to be one we play every available player on the bench as well and hope we don’t get injuries to whatever players Lennon has in mind for the Semi.
