All of the teams in contention for third and fourth place have what appear, on paper, to be some tricky games left e.g:

QP have to play us at wee hampden plus Morton and Partick away.

Rovers have QP away and St Johnstone away.

Arbroath have Partick at home and Pars at EEP.

Ayr must be least favourites big horse they can only acheive 48 points maximum.

There can be very unexpected results near the end of the season, the ones you think should win sometimes scunner ye by losing, so I`m taking nothing for granted.

I`ll be a monkey`s uncle if we don`t finish fourth or third, but we`ve got four hard league games left and no gimmies. but I think our players and manager have got the bottle for it.

The fact rovers have to play QP falls in our favour as it will likely mean whoever loses that drops out of the running.

Might be a few surprising results now with teams who have nothing to play for come up against teams fighting.

Ideally we would beat airdrie and wrap it up but it’s us and with all focus on the semi and some injuries in key attacking positions I can see airdrie getting something on Tuesday.

I think NL may have been feeling gutted if we are forced to finish the season without Nurudeen and Jeremiah, both extremely important for solidifying our defence - which looked quite holey in the highlights from Firhill. Add to that, possibly Andrew out as well and suddenly we might find it hard to get back onto the crest of a wave we were on. It clearly is causing NL some pain, understandably.

Apart from our defence being holy! - I thought we still played some good stuff against Plastic Gristle.

Whatever the result between QP and Rovers on Tuesday there`s bound to be some benefit to us. Ideally a draw for them, plus Pars win at Airdrie would effectively close it out.

Agreed.

A Rovers/QP draw and a scrappy 1-0 for our reserves against Airdrie will be perfect.

I guess it depends who you ask.

Gemini predicts 65-70% chance we will finish 3rd.

Not that I would trust AI with working out decent odds for something like this.

Yes agree, and it depends on recent results, unexpected injuries etc.

with more changes and probably a full "reserve" side playing i cant see anything other than an Airdrie win and neither Queens Park or Raith are out of it if they lose tomorrow night, next Tuesday will likely be a similar line up so its gambling everything on the final 2 games or praying the results in the other games before then go our way.

Why would we play anything other than our strongest team next Tuesday against SJ if there is still something to play for re the play-offs?

I think was a QP or a wee team fan and lost tomorrow night, there is no way I would be thinking we had any chance at all.

Given goal difference they effectively need to win all remaining games and the Raith run-in in particular is shocking.

Saving them for the Scottish cup final.

Ayr and QP can only lose 1pt and they are out so realistically it is between us Arbroath and Raith for 2 spots.
Raith: Arbroath (a). St. J (a) and RC at home.

Arbroath: RR (h) PT (h) Pars (a).

Pars: St J (h) QP (a) Arbroath (h)

I think we have the least difficult run in but anything could happen with these games. Could be Arbroath that fall out of it and we get Raith in the playoffs QF

yep PARot

Arbroath do not want up - ground improvements too much money
So its us and raith in the play offs

Are ground improvements an issue for Arbroath? They can play with terracing in the top flight if they are promoted. Maybe there`s issues with upgrading periphery areas eg media facilities, first aid etc.

But the last time they were in the playoffs, the fact that it was mainly terracing wasn`t an issue. They would be allowed.

I think Arbroath have stalled because their best players were loan players, now back to their clubs, plus their other good players are injured. The guys they brought in Tam Lang, Beadling, Mebude aren`t of the standard, or are perma crocks.

If St J beat us on Tuesday they will be 1 point from the title with Raith (H )and Ayr (A) to play.
If we beat them Partick could be only two points behind with Arbroath (A) and QP at home.

St. J have it all to play for. They will chuck everything at us, but if we can hold them off they will have to seriously go for it versus Raith at home.

If PT fk up v Airdrie at the weekend St J just have to draw with us to clinch it.
