Yes, but Hamilton needs to keep control of his temper, someone who could easily provoke a punch in the pub.

Could`ve been worse, brother Beaton might`ve given a penalty! (He gave them most decisions)

Hammy was very quickly on his way over towards Cartwright as the Feckirk man lay on the ground. I think he must have seen the ref reach for his card straightaway.

I`m not sure Hammy just called him a cheat or swore at him - because of the smile on his face after he said it - I don`t think he was angry - just happy to laugh in Cartwright`s face, seeing as how spectacularly the desperate attempt to get one over on the ref backfired.

The last word might`ve been something like: `card`, or `Pars` or similar. Whatever it was, Hammy was delighted to share it with the clodhopper Cartwright.

I doubt if I`ve guessed it, but the sentiments could`ve been something like -

`Nae penalty - jist a feckin` red card!`

`Yer no feckin` Neymar!` (a player notorious for diving) or,

`Go`n dive in the bath!`

Mind you, the more I watch it, it could have been -

`Yer off ya *******!` (see other folks` suggestions)

I thought he was equally erratic in respect of both sides.

Sending off Henry Carthorse was an absolutely crucial call - imagine a penalty in the last minute of a 0-0 cup semi final - would have been the last kick of the ball to decide the outcome.

But at the end of the day if he had given the penalty it would have been overturned by var since there was no contact at all

It turns out they`re not very good at penalties anyway, so it wouldn`t have mattered if it was given or not...

--------------------------------

`Hoist by your own petard!`

"AI:

Hoist by your own petard" means to be harmed, trapped, or ruined by one`s own plan, plot, or device intended for someone else. Originating from Shakespeare`s Hamlet, it literally describes a bomb-maker (enginer) being blown into the air (hoist) by their own explosive device (petard).
