I believe we have that now in Neil Lennon and a board that seems willing to back him. Of course the difficulty is breaking into the next level up when it is geared financially and otherwise to give the Premier teams an advantage. If we can get there however, we have the opportunity to actually do well in that league. Reply |

Author: pars4life1 Date: Sat 20th Jun 2026. 21:39 Not knowing the length of deal nwgenwa as potentially signed for st mirren but Todd has signed a 2 years deal with st johnstone, the absolute worst that desk could provide to him is a year at premiership and a year at championship. If we offered him a similar financial deal the absolute best we could of providedid a year at championship and a year at premiership. IRS very clear rhat signing for the higher up club makes the most sense, Reply |

I wish them well but also realise that they are replacesble like us all in jobs. Hopefully we can attract players who want to play for the club and buy into the direction we want to go. We all need to be pulling in the same direction next season. Hopefully other players can see the draw of the club based on the fact that MT, KN and likely JCM will perceived to have progressed in their performances. G Wardrope Reply |

Author: KirklistonPar Date: Sat 20th Jun 2026. 21:43 He’s obviously left as he can get a higher wage at another club or he’s not happy with how he was left out the side at the start of the season. Players come and go and very few will have loyalty to the club that they play for. If a better offer comes up they will take it. We fall in love with them and chant their names, some even get their own songs. But at the end of the day our feelings towards them are stronger than their feelings, loyalty and love of our club. Being a supporter and player are very different emotional connections. Reply |

But his experience just proves how fickle football can be and might have convinced him to take advantage of any situation that might allow him to improve his financial situation. The problem with players making the national squads and playing in cup finals as it is counter intuitive o the club aspirations ie players at the end of their contracts, attracting attentionwhen they make it into the national side, and the shop window of the cup final. I inagine it takes a couple of seasons to get the right recruitment strategy in place in terms of player contracts, but the imperative would be to go for automatic promotion this season. Its a fundamental flaw of the league structure as its not conducive to developing players or clubs like dunfermline. The talent pool seems to be ever diminishing with fewer home grown players due to lack of exposure to the best levels in the country. G Wardrope Reply |
