They looked a vastly superior English army in the eye — and they sent them homeward tae think again. They didn’t win because the odds were in their favour. They won because of something no army could match — the unbreakable spirit of Scotland. That spirit didn’t die on those fields. It lives on. Tonight, it plays football. And here’s the thing that sends a shiver down the spine — tonight, at that stadium, the oldest football in the world will be present. Over 500 years old, discovered right there in Stirling Castle — the very heartland of Bannockburn — that wee leather ball has seen more Scottish history than any of us can imagine. Tonight it presides over our boys again. Scotland vs Brazil. The World Cup. And all we need — a win, a draw, whatever it takes — to make history. To go through for the first time. Ever. Bruce didn’t need a perfect plan. He needed heart, courage, and every man standing as one. Scotland our national team and the Tartan Army — that’s you tonight. Every fan in that stadium, every soul watching from a pub in Paisley, a living room in Lerwick, a bar in Sydney or Boston or Dubai wearing the navy blue — you are the army. Your ancestors didn’t just hand you a nation. They handed you this moment. RISE. LIKE. NEVER. BEFORE. 💙 Come on Scotland. The whole of history is watching. 🏴🔵⚽ DunfyDave Reply |

Author: PeachtreePar Date: Wed 24th Jun 2026. 19:44 I’ve been less than 8 miles from the Scotland training camp in Charlotte, NC this week but now find myself waiting to board a plane back to Atlanta when the Scotland v Brazil game is on. Not a great fan of my corporate travel company/company travel policies for not approving an earlier flight. So I’m hoping for some thunderstorm to delay the kickoff. I am wearing my Scotland top though. Reply |

We are too defensive and as everyone knows caution is Clarke’s thing. We can’t afford to be cavalier but we also can’t sit back and let Brazil play their own game. Most of the top teams are great going forward but are suspect under pressure. This is not the Brazil of old. We need to put them under pressure in the final third. This is the moment for McTominay, McGinn, Robertson, Tierney et al to step up. They may not see another World Cup. The fans out there are doing their bit and deserve a result. Let’s go Scotland!
