Looks handy to me. He`s the type of keeper NL likes and he has done his time in the Scottish game so knows what its about. It looks like a good signing to me.

I`m of the opinion that a goalkeeper is the only position where a low league doesn`t matter that match. A good save is a good save no matter what level. It`s different from an outfield player making the step up. The only real difference is handing the pressure of a higher level/bigger club.

I can`t see him costing much so he may well be being brought in to fight for first place with another goalie still to come.

Good signing for you, Unless Belfast ruined him he`s a good keeper.

I see that when he was at Caly he was called up to the Gambia national team for World Cup Qualifers against Kenya and Ivory Coast.

Oh no, another international who could be unavailable during the League season!

Hopefully we still have The Ox or Tobi to come back as first choice

The comments from Crusaders fans on Facebook are very complimentary and he seemed to be very popular over there. I think he is here as first choice.

Well technically it doesn’t really matter if it’s two players or five players.
We will still have a game called off

Surely having any player who is good enough to get called up to play international football for their country is a good thing. For one thing it’s a great advert for DAFC and we getting a player who is highly regarded as be one of the best players in their home country that can cover that position. When we had call ups last season we weren’t forced to play a weakened team. Games were rearranged were they not?

The problem was the rearranged fixtures combined with our Cup run caused congestion which meant we weren`t always able to field our strongest team. It might have affected our qualification for the play-offs.

It`s always good (and a novelty) to have international players, you just hope they don`t have too far to travel.

I`m pretty certain there`s no AFCON this year? I think that was the real killer with Amade.

Not sure if he will get called up, it`s good to get a keeper in!

The club were on record as saying they had to go to an SFA exceptions panel to secure a work permit/visa for Alfons Amade.
If that indicates the sort of threshold it would seem unlikely you’ll secure foreign talent unless they have been involved in some form of international set-up.

most of the foreign signings go through the SFA panel as they dont automatically qualify for a work permit but they are not international players or near that level, StJohnstone just signed a Spaniard from the 4th tier over there as an example.

there are a few hoops to jump through but it is almost like you pay the costs for the appeal etc and the player gets in basically.

"Hopefully we still have The Ox or Tobi to come back as first choice"

Motherwell`s no1 being linked with QPR today so a timeline for Oxborough could be even longer if they are willing to let him go, as for Oluwayemi i think that ship has sailed a long time ago but you never know, a different problem is you would think you would want your keepers to be similar types, not the complete opposite which he and Terrell are in comparison to Dibaga, Oxborough and Mehmet.

I think it’s a gamble going into a season you are aiming to win the league with two GK’s who are unproven at this level.

I’m still hopeful that Ox will come in (and perhaps Terrell out on loan to League One to get experience).

Proven or unproven doesn’t matter if you look at Deniz stats before he came here you would think he’d walk the league and it was mistake after mistake

Keepers can make a million save one season and miss time everything in another just need someone that does the basics right and we’ve got better than we’ve had for a while

Honestly can`t see us paying a fee for this guy to sit on the bench. I reckon he`ll be #1 and we might get some other goalie in on a free or a loan.

Not sure what you mean about Mehmet`s stats before he signed for us. He was a few weeks shy of 29 when we joined us and had played 47 club games in his whole career.

Can`t see us bringing in another keeper. I think it will be competition between the two. I am sure both will play a part this season.
