| 22. Author: Higgys Mohawk Date: Mon 27th Jul 2026. 12:54 I think Otoo was probably our best player at one point in McPake’s last full season, when he was playing in central midfield. I thought at that point he’d move down south and we’d get some money for him. The following season he struggled more for form in a poor side, then under Lennon it just didn’t happen for him. Like a few have said on here, I think that Ngwenya went on to have the season at LCB that we might have expected from Otoo. I think he has the physicality to play in the English leagues. I’m sure he’ll get a club at a level not too dissimilar to one we are at. Reply |

Perhaps he suffered from his versatility – a jack of all trades without being a master of any. DM? LCB? LWB? LB? I’m not sure what his best position was. I’m not sure anyone did. A useful player to have in a club with a small squad that’s grovelling for points. Less valuable when your ambition calls for more specialism and you are trying to win every week. Strong and fit, but he seemed to lack a little finesse. He may do better in England where athleticism seems to be favoured over skill. I wonder if we don’t show enough patience with players who are off-form for a bit, although Ngwenya and Matty Todd came back from the dead to a certain extent. maybe he had plenty chances, I don’t know. The lack of proper reserve team football doesn’t help. Reply |
