| 6. Author: kozmasrightfoot Date: Sat 1st Aug 2026. 18:27 Considering where Bordeaux now play, I doubt they have any players worth signing. It will be interesting to see if they march back up the leagues to get to where they used to be. Pars fan. Magpies fan. Mens tennis fan. Alternative rock fan. Not a fan of much else. Reply |

There bound to be a certain amount of fans that will return especially if they manage to progress early. I’d actually love to see it. COYP Post Edited (Sun 02 Aug 11:51) Reply |

Author: Par-timer Date: Sun 2nd Aug 2026. 13:29 From what I have read, Bord seems to have deposited five million euros to secure the takeover with the same amount to follow in a second tranche of funding (to be sealed off to cover the costs of the forthcoming season). However, the deal is off if the French sport authorities stick with the decision to relegate the Girondins to the sixth tier, rather than allowing them to continue in the fourth tier. With Lopez (former Bordeaux owner who also owned Boavista) off the scene, the authorities might see this funding as sufficient to secure the immediate funding of the club and rescind the double relegation, giving Bord a gambler’s chance of making a fortune by restoring the team to something of their former glory with a couple of promotions.
