Based in standard of opponent and budget, Hearts and Motherwell been gulfed by teams and at least one has made it. Whats funnier is now watching the Celtic fans commenting about Rangers defeat like last night never happened. Reply |

I really don’t care much for them but I do care about Scottish football as a whole. Motherwell getting Freiburg, there was only going to be one winner but at least Motherwell on the face of it have performed well. Hearts scrapping by but competing with comparative sized clubs is good. I hope Hibs can do something against Gent but that’s probably a slight upset if they get through. (I think it’s 1-1 at the moment) Beating Vienna/Gent is likely to be the height of it for Scottish clubs outside the OF though. We need the OF to perform well in Europe to boost the chances for the rest to get into group stages of Europa or Conference League. I’m a huge believer that a rising tide lifts all ships-if any Scottish team gets positive coverage and compete it’ll bring more attention and money to the league as a whole but it needs to happen consistently.
