| 1. Author: wee eck Date: Tue 1st Sep 2026. 15:07 Scotland midfielder Scott McTominay is to have a minor heart procedure after the discovery of "a mild benign arrhythmia", Napoli have announced. The 29-year-old was subsituted after 56 minutes of Sunday`s 2-1 Serie A defeat by Como and will have corrective treatment "in the coming days". Napoli expect him to return to playing after the international break in early October and McTominay himself posted on Instagram: "See you soon Napoli. I won`t take long." However, it means he is likely to miss Sebastien Pocognoli`s first four games as Scotland head coach, against Slovenia (home and away), North Macedonia and Switzerland in the Nations League. According to the NHS,, external an arrhythmia is when the heart beats too quickly or too slowly, or the heartbeat is not steady. Napoli say McTominay will undergo cardiac arrhythmia ablation - which the British Heart Foundation explains, external is when heat or cold energy is used to create tiny scars in the heart to block faulty signals and restore a typical heartbeat. Author: thebear Date: Tue 1st Sep 2026. 19:49 I have it, and is often the cause of strokes, when on the correct medication its usually fine, my consultant did not want me to have treatment as getting the medication has worked well. | 6. Author: ipswichpar Date: Tue 1st Sep 2026. 20:28 That`s what Tony Blair had I think. It must be quite hard to initially diagnose in healthy people....his heart rate would be below 60 I suspect anyway. Strange as mine is below 60 too, but they have never suggested I need anything done. Reply |

Often confused with being unfit or suffering from a virus. He is likely to have had a procedure called cardio version, which is basically a huge electric shock to get the heartbeat back in synch. This is an external procedure. He will then have had an ablation to prevent this condition from returning. It’s 95% effective. They send a laser in through your groin and up to your heart where they use heat to “ringfence” the faulty area which is causing rogue electrical signals.
