Author: Indiapar1 Date: Sun 6th Sep 2026. 20:29 I suppose given the fact that they were relegated last season and have the benefit of a parachute payment, and they were beaten at home by Stenhousemuir who are managed by Bartley who they didn`t give the job to puts them in a precarious position. Livingston had previously stated they had taken their time to get the right fit. Sacking him after 5 league games suggests instability at the club. Interesting to see if a new manager will make much difference. The owner stated previously he did not come to the ckub to hire and fire managers, but that language has changed to "not accept mediocrity. As it stands, they don`t seem to have recruited well. Like all clubs who try to expand, things take time and there are hiccups but they`ve never had a structure as positive as the one currently. Their crowds are really poor for the size of the town, but then it`s a town that was made up of overspill from Edinburgh and Glasgow. They`ve never really managed to capture that new generation as presumably the kids follow their dad`s team. Reply |

Author: Indiapar1 Date: Mon 7th Sep 2026. 10:57 I wonder sometimes if clubs invested money in attracting local supporters rather than in some players it would offer a better return on investment. If you can attract a couple of hundred extra supporters thats potentially £4,000 each home game. That would fund a players wages. Its the old 80/20 rule - 80% of your problems have 20% solutions. An active campaign and incentives to attract supporters, particularly young supporters may help to boost the home gate and income. Too often I think supporters are ignored in the solution and very much treated as "people who turn up to watch us". An actively engaged support can be part of the solution. I wonder if for example, there was any supporter engagement in the recent Scottish FA meeting in St Andrews? It needs a hollistic approach with multi perspectives.
