It must have been due to the sheer number of charges brought against the club. You have to think the punishment meted out will be off the scale. I feel sorry for City`s fans, who are completely innocent in all of this. Not your average Sunday League player. Reply

Author: AdamAntsParsStripe Date: Fri 25th Sep 2026. 16:51 Even if the charges are halved after appeal, City could potentially be looking at losing multiple league titles and compensation running into the hundreds of millions for teams that lost out on Champions League places etc. Major points deduction and automatic relegation as a result a very real possibility but how far will the EPL go I wonder. I can see where cynicism comes into your thinking but we are unlikely to ever see such a charge meted out ever again and to casually dismiss the seriousness of what they are charged with, how can the English authorities deal with much less serious situations in the future. City`s legal team is being led by Lord Pannick KC, who is reported to charge £5,000 an hour for his services. He helped City overturn their two-year European ban in 2020. They’ve cheated to win 8 trophies. 3 Premier Leagues 3 League cups a FA Cup and a Charity Shield. If the punishment is one that means they are still in the EPL next year then it’s open season for the other clubs. Why will any of them adhere to FFP rules when you can cheat on this scale and get away with it? Reply
