I presume we stepped in just in time, eh? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The universe is ruled by chance and indifference ![]() Reply |

Author: ipswichpar Date: Fri 2nd Oct 2026. 18:30 I think he said he was too sick to play because he was only playing for the reserves and wasn`t enjoying it but got called up to the first team and scored a hatrick after asking his aunt to support his visa application. Think that might have been 1963, so a year or so before he joined us. Reply |

Author: veteraneastender Date: Sat 3rd Oct 2026. 09:08 Sir Fergie was looking to emigrate because he wasn’t featuring in St.Johnstone’s first team - then he got picked to play at Ibrox and scored the hat trick - that brought him back into the team. He was part time at that point, an apprentice at Rolls Royce, probably about finished his training there. He wanted full time, that’s when Willie Cunningham stepped in - £2,000 plus Dan MacAlindon to Perth - what great deal that turned out to be. Post Edited (Sat 03 Oct 09:11) Reply |
