Sacked as East Fife manager after a dismal campaign (1 win in 10) and an embarrassing loss to Cumbernauld.
Pink and coaching staff also away.
One wonders how he always seems to have amazing first seasons with various clubs such as Forfar, Arbroath etc but then goes on a disastrous dive in form.

Players gone deaf from all the shouting in their ears, I imagine.

I`m not sure that last sentence has much truth in it, did an amazing job at Brechin, turning them from a struggling 4th tier side, and getting them into the Championship, which was always going to be difficult for a club of that size. Did well at Forfar, again one of the worst sides in the bottom division, got them promoted and battling for the League One promotion play offs. Then, did best of all at Arbroath leading them to the League Two title, winning League One, and turning them into a side that came very close to winning the Championship and getting promoted to the Premier League. Did well getting East Fife up from the bottom tier to League One too. He`s got a very good record in my opinion

That’s really my point though.
What is it despite amazing successes with these teams that lead him to be sacked the first sign of trouble?

All his teams are dire to watch though, if they are winning no one minds so much, but when they start losing most of the time, it`s truly grim.

East Fife went into freefall towards the end of last season too, they have quite a few really old players who not surprisingly start to get injured - it`s just rinse and repeat, pity that a real character has probably had his last job, but his teams have never been enjoyable.

Most managers get sacked, it`s essentially part of the job.

Sometimes they`ll do well and another club will come in for them. In my time, for us, that`s Pat Stanton and Jimmy Calderwood. Two in 50+ years.

It`s no mystery that managers get sacked. It`s typically how it ends.

I wonder what will happen to Ewan McLeod now that Dick`s away?
