The first - a tap-in he made sure of by taking a touch to set himself right to tap home. At the time it struck me - that touch - and then last night, a different kind of goal but how he got himself set over the ball to keep it down before arrowing it in. I think these two goals show how, when a player such as Rory recognises they have got time to compose themselves, they think! and apply their best ability to the task. It seems to me the way he set himself to score these two goals could be coached and that gives hope for others that scoring is not always a result of instinct, but can be also the outcome of intelligent craft and ability, of which Rory is a great example these days. I suppose thats what separates the great players from the good players .. COYP We are forever shaped by the Children we once were Reply |

Author: onandupthepars Date: Wed 28th Oct 2026. 15:45 It`s not something I noticed about Rory before, but you could be right Wee Eck, if he missed one at Ayr he`s deliberately giving it extra concentration and attention to detail. Let`s hope for consistency. It`ll be interesting to see if it`s a new level he`s got to, Busspar. Reply |

But a few scruffy or jammy ones - such as an own goal or two, plus the odd yin rebounding in off somebody`s khyber - would be a welcome addition to our collection of worldies! I`m excited to see what Rory can do next, and hopeful that Coops and others can get their mojos back. Reply |

| 11. Author: wee eck Date: Wed 28th Oct 2026. 23:49 I don`t think one man`s going to solve the goalscoring problem. It`s not as if all the chances are going to fall to one player. We need players contributing from all areas of the pitch, particularly midfield. There`s very little goal threat from there at the moment. Reply |

I’d still rather see us creating these chances than watching the teams of the recent past, when we were wondering where and when the chances would come. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. Reply |
