He strikes me that he wants to finish the job this season and get promotion. Without overtly stating that I think this will be the clubs target, whether that is finishing 1st or 2nd. We wouldn`t have the numbers in the squad otherwise. The players are learning, improving and developing every game. We could pass Aberdeen on the way up at the end of the season. Why start again. Author: wee eck Date: Sat 7th Nov 2026. 22:18 The last time the Aberdeen job became vacant John McGlynn was linked with it but Allan Preston, who knows him, said he wouldn`t be interested in a job where he didn`t have the final say on transfers. Unless that`s changed at Aberdeen I presume he would still not be interested. Reply |
| 11. Author: Sacktheref69 Date: Sun 8th Nov 2026. 07:48 A few Dons fans at my work never wanted Robinson. They also want the club to show "a bit more ambition than going for Lenny". Aberdeen are the perfect case study in fans needing to be careful what they wish for. They`ve been an absolute bin fire since they chased DM. They wanted someone who would take them to the next level, but apart from the cup win under Thelin, they`ve stank the place out. EDIT: He’s just used the line "until I'm told otherwise". When that line gets wheeled out after a game, it usually ends with them loading boxes into the motor by Monday. This is Andy Tod`s world and we are lucky to live in it. | 13. Author: TAFKA_Super_Petrie Date: Sun 8th Nov 2026. 13:04 Still a poisoned challice. Realistically a cup win and 3rd place finish is their glass ceiling. Thellin managed most of that and was hero to zero and hounded out within the year. Calderwood and McInness had them doing really well but still wasn't good enough for them. Fan expectations are unrealistic and Hearts nearly doing the impossible last year just seems to have the cranked that right up. --------------------------------------------------------------- ![]() [b]"People always talk about Ronaldinho and magic, but I didn't see him today. So that`s another for the list. That 3-0 scoreline looked bad for them but performance wise it was nowhere near as bad as the last 20 minutes of the game last night. Our defence and goalkeeper looked better than theirs. Reply |
