| 1. Author: jake89 Date: Wed 15th Jan 2025. 17:16 Following in from Nationwide closing the old Dunfermline HQ, Lloyds are now leaving Pitreavie after 40 years due to people working from home. The Dunfermline BS building has sold but my recollection of the Lloyds building is it was much bigger and pretty grim inside truth be told. Hopefully none of them will be forced over the bridge as a result of this. Reply |

Staff opinion is that it would have been cheaper building a new office, he is only in 2 days a week, rest of the time works from home on System Support. Reply |

Author: buffy Date: Wed 15th Jan 2025. 21:25 jake89, Wed 15 Jan 17:16 It’s one of the options on the table and the bank are offering to make up the difference in travel costs for one year for those employees who will have to go to Edinburgh. The refurbishment which LA mentions is over a three year period so there will be other buildings in the capital owned by Lloyd’s for employees to use. ”Buffy’s Buns are the finest in Fife”, J. | 5. Author: jake89 Date: Wed 15th Jan 2025. 22:09 It`ll be a shame to lose the physical office and I hope the extra travel time and cost isn`t too much of a burden for those who have to shift to Edinburgh. I was reading they`re doing the same in Liverpool too. Reply |
| 6. Author: DBP Date: Thu 16th Jan 2025. 05:46 Makes sense, Lloyds employ about half the people (in the uk) they used to, and many of those left only attend the office part time. Realise it’s a pain for those who aren’t used to the commute, but couple of days a week where you have to use the bus or train isn’t so bad (many people have commuted every day) I think the gyle (Sighthill) is their decant space (while there main hub) is being refurbished - so that may limit options to the train only as the Fife to gyle bus has stopped due to low numbers Reply |

| 8. Author: General Zod Date: Thu 16th Jan 2025. 07:00 People realise not everyone works during the day eh? What about folk that work in the evenings? How are they meant to get home if they finish at 12, get stuck on a call and then can’t get home? They’re not offering voluntary redundancy and some folk don’t have the option to work from home. Looks like they know people will have to lose their jobs and are counting on it. Reply |

Speke & Dunfermline are the only ones that were announced yesterday Never mind found it; Citymark, Sighthill North, Ettrick House, Teviot and New Uberior all to go after 2027. The businesses around Pitreavie won`t be too badly affected but I bet the cafes and shops around Fountainbridge will feel the impact. Reply |

The technology isn`t keeping up but it needs to get to a point where lots of companies can securely base themselves in hub buildings in towns and cities rather than centralising to massive offices in the bigger cities. Hopefully there will be interest in the building. A positive is that Caledonia house over the road appears to have sold fairly quickly. Reply |
