32 years since that night at Old Trafford, Manchester we have a rubber match of sorts when Chris Eubank Jnr. faces Connor Benn.

This has kinda crept up on me, trying to pretend I`m not really interested but now 2 days out I can`t wait.

Chris cutting so much weight v Connor going up two weight division it almost makes it an even fight.

I was team Benn back in the day but now I`m Eubank all the way.

I was team Benn back then but can`t really take to either of these two.
Still , I doubt they`ll lose any sleep over that 😆
I`m going for a contentious decision and a rematch clause being triggered to generate more money .... Then possibly another rematch if the score is tied at 1-1 after the second match .
Seen some footage of Benn snr on the pads recently....he`s still got it.

Two average fighters living off their father`s name. I can`t see either ever winning a world title so I suppose this will be as big as it gets for them.
I hope Conor Hen gets beaten though, junior has grown on me and it it was a good gesture of his to pay the fighters who lost out because Benn failed the drugs test before the initial date.

It’s tough on both
- cutting weight definitely drains the body and screws with stamina
BUT - Benn going up two weight classes? Jeez

Been there, done that, it was not pretty.

8/10kg can be a helluva difference at this weight.
Eubank is limited to an 8 lb (3.6kg) gain on the morning of the fight, but that still gives him a good 12 hours before the fight.
He could easily be 10kg or more heavier.

Who’s your dough on, Lux? Has to be Eubank?

The whole thing seems farcical. I`m surprised two fighters whose normal weights are so different are allowed to fight each other. I`ve also just read that each fighter is expected to earn a seven- figure purse! That can only be because of the rivalry of their fathers when they were in their prime.

Boxing has gone down this route, sadly. We have “you tubers” getting lots of cash to fight OAP boxers.

I wonder what Ali would have thought of it all?

Boxing is nothing but a show these days.
Gets more like the WWE every year.
It`s always been a shady sport at top level and fights like this and the recent Mike Tyson fight should never have been sanctioned.
But .... Money makes the world go round 😳

I’d like to see Benn give Eubank a whupping, and while I think he will win the early rounds, don’t think he can get the stoppage - would be happy to see it though!
I suspect the weight/power difference will be too much.
Eubank to catch up with Benn after 4/5 rounds

That`s very interesting Lux, can the human body put on 10kg in 12 hours? And how would they do that? I guess they could eat loads but would the body be able to absorb that much in that timescale or would it just sh 1t it out? Would most of the weight be in being dehydrated then hydrating?

I eat like a horse and drink like a fish but I`m lucky if I`ve put on 12kg of weight in 30 years, even when I was getting through 6000 calories a day I never put on a pound, just spent half the day in the toilet

One of the most famous (although not the biggest) was Arturo Gatti gaining over 20lbs for his fight vs Joey Gamache.

It was visually obvious how bigger Gatti was and the devastating knockout he delivered on Joey put him in hospital for weeks.
