If you didn`t see the comment maybe you shouldn`t get involved. I was simply reminding him that this wasn`t the first time I`d mentioned it. It wasn`t my own experience that rankled but the fact that so many people are affected and might be offended.

Hi GG in the study 50% of people missed the Gorilla. When tested on radiologists 85% of them missed it. These cases are really important for human interactions. I work in AI and these studies are really important for machine classified decisions. I once ran a study in automotive electronics and the success rate of human decisions over billions of measurements was less than 5%. At those levels AI is a no brainer. More and more the statistics of psychology are really important to engineering improvements.

Thanks for the deletion. I`m sure I`ve raised this before on here and you said you had a friend who had also called you out about such facetious comments. I must say it`s a strange coping mechanism that involves making fun of someone else`s misfortune.
I`m pretty sure GG Riva means no harm by what he said, as he comes across as a thoroughly decent chap. I do however remember him having a wee joke about it previously. Between him forgetting about the furore that one caused, and not noticing his son`s beard had disappeared, maybe he needs to get checked out for auld-timers himself.

You`re correct, wee eck. Now that you mention it I do recall it as you mention my good friend, whose mother in law suffered from Alzheimer`s. He asked me not to joke about it as he didn`t think it was funny and I made sure I`ve never done so with him. He`s still my friend. I had totally forgotten that you had raised this with me before. I`m annoyed with myself as it was a totally stupid and unnecessary add-on.
I regret any offence caused to you and other posters. It was certainly not my intention. The thread was an attempt at self-deprecation.

I missed the gorilla, too. π
I`m reminded of a psychology class at Moray House when I did my teacher training year. A man burst in and started ranting at our lecturer, accusing him of having an affair with his wife and threatening to kill him. We were all gobsmacked until the lecturer explained that it was a setup after the man had gone. He asked us to describe the intruder. Most of us hadn`t a clue. Even more astounding was the fact that hardly anybody could recall that the lecturer had covered his head by inverting the waste paper basket. π

I shaved my beard off a wee while back, was fed up of having to wear an utterly pointless beard net when working as a bakery driver, and itβs something I wont be doing again anytime soon!
Beards have become very acceptable these days, but it does take time to grow it in. Shame you have folk like DJ Prance in the world saying a beard is untidy π
