If you`re struggling to find somewhere for a private flu jag, Kirkcaldy Asda seems to have them all, huge amount of slots. My wife failed to get anything in Dunfermline: Dears, Wells, Asda, Boots all have nothing available.

Thanks for sharing. Seems to be a lot more flu this year. It`s downed quite a few of my team. I think people have forgotten all that we learned about staying at home when I`ll and washing out hands 😂

Keep away from snotty nosed kids

And while it is earlier (and may be a worse virus) it`s not *that* much worse just now than some previous years. It may be a political message to put a bit of pressure on the Resident Doctors

I have heard that the flu jab might not be brilliantly aligned with the virus going around. Even if this is true.... i`m definitely not saying avoid getting a fly jab..... just don`t get complacent because you have had it!

The flu jab changes each year in terms of the variant it targets. This year it`s not hitting what seems to be the main variant. Also seems to be a bit of a super spreader. My wife had it a couple of weeks ago and it seems loads have come down with it. It`s that time of year for office parties so it`ll spread like wildfire.

The flu vaccine is engineered to cover 3/4 of the most likely strains predicted to be most prominent through the season. It will still provide protection through its mutations.

Taken the flu jag every year, and never had a problem.Might just have been lucky, but even before I Qualified to get it free,I paid for it,would say ,in my experience,it was worth paying for.

I`ve been lucky in life in as much as I`ve only had 3 or 4 really bad flus that have floored me.
But , the latest one I caught really knocked seven bells of keech out of me for about 10 days and I`m only really getting back on an even keel now.
I am the wrong side of 50 now so maybe I should start getting these yearly jabs.
