| 1. Author: buffy Date: Sun 8th Mar 2026. 23:42 Near Glasgow central station. From the BBC “Firefighters are tackling a major blaze at Glasgow Central Station, which is closed until further notice. The alarm was raised with reports of a fire in a shop in Union Street at about 15:45 on Sunday. The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service says 15 appliances including three high-reach vehicles are at the scene. Water has been pumped from the River Clyde to douse the flames but the fire has taken hold of the Victorian buildings. The dome at one corner of the building has collapsed.” Guests at the Voco Grand Central Hotel on Gordon Street have been evacuated. Those staying at the hotel were ordered to leave immediately at about 19:00 as the fire spread.
