Personality, I love it. ChatGPT has become my personal assistant that I use throughout the day.
Recipes for dinner, preview tonight`s football match, give me the latest news, find me a film, suggest a day trip within a 2hr drive, tell me more about whatever topic has peaked my interest, where can I park close to Hampden etc.
I`m well aware of the negative side, lose of jobs, potential misuse in image manipulation/porn etc, but these are don`t affect me directly.
I can completely see the huge potential negatives, but for what I use it for, on a day to day basis, it`s made my life much easier.
Interestingly, my teenagers hate it. I assumed it would be perfect for them due to their age and being techy savvy, but it seems they are very aware of the drawbacks of an AI future.
Either way, it`s not going away anytime soon, and it`s definitely making it much more difficult to figure out what is actually happening in the world. No picture/video can ever be taken at face value any more, so it`s increasingly difficult to find trustworthy news sources.

for wording things etc at work its brilliant and seeing how 1 sentance can be transformed by asking for certain context/criteria/designated audience etc.

the AI images etc is very scary and certainly blurs real life from AI

As a work tool it is incredible and saves me so much time, I would struggle without it now.

AI slop I could really do without and the power and pollution required to cool AI data centres is astronomical at a time when we are taxed to encourage us to be green and are pushed towards sh#tty heat pumps.

If I was a creative I would be worried as AI can generate things that have typically required high levels of expertise before.

It’s much like the internet when it started. It’s entirely free will if you use it for good or ill and you take the consequences.
I don’t like the videos on Facebook that show AI wild bears etc cuddling humans as some people really are that thick to believe it.
There should be a law made to force people doing these to make it clear it’s AI.

I personally think the biggest advantage may be in the world of medicine - hopefully it will help us find a cure for cancer and other horrible illnesses and diseases etc.

However, for me the biggest disadvantage is that over time people are going to lose the ability to think for themselves and come to their own opinions and conclusions on all aspects of life.

Tbh Neil when Google came about people thought the same. I don’t think it’ll replace anyone’s ability to do that.

I get invaluable info for my aquarium. Which fish work together, illness treatment, how to work some equipment that had very poor or no instructions.
I spent ages on it making sure I got the right eqpt to fix some ailments, fact checking some potential scams and fake news posts.
Im just getting into it but im loving it so far

I`ve used ChatGPT for quite a lot of things, it`s pretty good for diagnosing medical conditions from symptoms and also veterinary advice with the pets.
I also dabble in the stock market for a bit banter, and will ask it for share tips based on what I think may happen, e.g. I thought the price of oil would go up, so asked it for companies whose share price would benefit and it gave me some useful prompts.
I used Copilot at work as well, handy for those moments when you need a bit help on Excel or whatever. I did get a bit lazy for a bit where I was getting it to write things for me for work, but I`m trying to get away from that, as it works better if you do the writing first and then ask it to tidy it up. There has been occasions where I have asked it to use company literature to help me write or prove something but it`s gone away and got the totally wrong sources, looking at old, out of date information. At first glance I was delighted by what it had done but when I read it in detail, I realised it was a load of old cobblers. You`ve got to watch, you can`t really rely on it 100%, it could easily give you a load of rubbish that would get you the sack. It`s good for looking over all your emails, meetings and Teams chats to give you prompts about things that need done. Copilot can also do some amazing things with data, but again, you can ask it to do something really simple and it will just make a right mess of it.
It has it uses but it not reliable.

The use of it to fake pictures and video is really concerning, especially when rogue nations like the US and Israel are involved.

It`s interesting to see how others use it, I can see where it has been used on internet articles, forum posts, work projects etc. There was a poster on here up until about a year ago that used it for almost every post, Cammy AI Par or something like that, his posts went from normal football forum posts from a fan to very polished AI essays almost overnight, much to his detriment, as he had some valid points before he introduced AI
